A laugh escaped her, placing a hand on her hip. Eyes met, and she brushed her hair over her shoulder as she leaned against the counter. His company was always appreciated, and she never minded when any of her teammates came through the bar, even for a quick hello. Honestly, it brightened her day.

“I meant all of this,” she gestured with her hand, referring to the team of misfits. “But I guess they come together, huh?”

Wasn’t that the damn TRUTH. Leslie sighed a bit as he nodded his head slightly, but didn’t say anything more on the topic, content to leave that conversation to DIE.

One thing that WAS catching the silver’s attention though, was WHY was this guy in need of materia? Not that it was unusual, but for someone to come to Wall Market SPECIFICALLY for it? Definitely a bit strange.

“ No problem. Maybe you can answer a question I’ve got. Just curious, why the need for materia? Live in one of the sectors that has more trouble with MONSTERS? ”

Of course, the silver fully expected Biggs to just agree with the suggestion. And while that could very well be WHY, something was telling the crook there was more to this guy than appearances let on.

And the armored boots, and holsters…? Sure did tell QUITE the story.

“Hm? Oh, I live in the next sector over, seven. I work with their neighborhood watch. We chase out any monsters that happen to stumble across the safe zone or help people find their way. Odds and ends.”

The story wasn’t a complete lie. It was a good cover for the way he was dressed and the guns he carried so he always stuck to it. It wasn’t like he could run around telling people he was a member of Avalanche. 

He knew a lot of people wouldn’t even bother to answer or would tell the other to mind his own business but Biggs always thought that came off as more suspicious then actually having an answer ready.

No - Ruben had MISJUDGED his attempts - and was now paying the price for such miscalculations. Injuries were THROBBING, his inability to walk in a straight line beyond simple agitation and pain; And CURIOSITY EBBED; Would this man be AIDING him if he knew who he worked for? If he knew what he did? Perhaps not - so best to keep silent. 

“…thank you…” Initially his voice was laced with surprise - scarred fingers reaching to accept the  bottles, hesitant. “…Would you show me the way? I can restock that of which you have gifted me–”

“Oh don’t worry about paying me back. Part of the job when you’re with the Neighborhood watch. I’m just happy to help.” He smiled softly, letting the other man take the potions he needed to get himself fixed up a little. 

“ Hate to break it to ya, but there’s a LOT of people who wouldn’t agree with that opinion of yours. ”

Regardless, Leslie gave a SHRUG of indifference; he was just stating the facts, nothing MORE OR LESS. Shit, he agreed with the guy, the silver didn’t much care for Sector 6 either, but there wasn’t anything he could DO about it other than manage to SURVIVE DAY BY DAY.

Not having any other duties requiring his attention other than the need to SLEEP, the doorman pointed off in the general direction, before sighing and shaking his head.

“ Know what, I’ll just WALK you there myself. Quicker than trying to give you DIRECTIONS, especially since you’re not familiar with the area. C'mon. ”

Gesturing with a turn of his head, Leslie began to walk slightly ahead of the raven, although still at the other man’s side. Guess he might as well strike up some small talk while he was at it.

Boy, the silver was in an odd mood tonight.

“ Name’s LESLIE, and YOU? ”

“And they’re more then welcome to their opinion just like I’m welcome to mine. And mine is that this place reeks of unsavory things even without Shinra’s influence over it.” 

He’s surprised when the other offers to show him the way. It’s nicer then most in this section. The last time he tried getting directions someone pointed him towards the Honey Bee. It was a cheap ploy to get people over there but he had to give the man he asked props for his tactics.

Her eyes widen, leaning forward a bit. “Is what you’re doing with your friends a tough project? I can help you out, if you want.” Aerith seems to latch on to the idea, “The sooner you get it done, he sooner you get back with the kids, right?”
