Shoutout to feedees with dietary restrictions: feedees with lactose intolerance, gluten restrictions, diabetes, IBS, allergies, etc. it's hard as hell to gain weight in this economy especially if you don't have access to certain food groups that might make gaining easier!
Diabetic here and I wish I knew what the best things to eat were 🥲
What you need to know is that carbs break down into sugar and sugar is hard for your body to process. Protein is good bc it takes longer to digest and keeps your sugar from spiking (or dropping too low, which is worse than a little high). Fiber is also hugely helpful to eat alongside sugar. You can try to replace sugary foods with artificial sugar alternatives and still eat fattening food. Check your blood sugar before and ~1 hour after all meals to keep track of what spikes it so you can try to keep yourself in a good range of 90-150. If your sugar does spike too high, the best things you can do to get it down is mild exercise (a short walk is good enough) and drinking water. Not all diabetics need insulin! Also if you're in the US there's a bunch of companies that will send you test strips, glucometers, and lancets for free if you just tell them you're diabetic, so you don't need to spend $60+ on all that equipment. Lastly, here's two other resources I've reblogged before specifically for diabetic gainers.

Thank you so much for putting this together, I was diagnosed a bit over 3 years ago (Thanksgiving day 2022 ironically enough). It has been so hard to find proper resources but this is perfect!
