Thinking about how within my first few months learning D2 some folks I had started playing more regularly with were taking me through Zero Hour as one of my first post Red War activities. They were being so helpful and kind guiding me through it with my baby gear and inability to jump, basically holding my hand the whole time like “you’re doing great sweetie”. But then we get down into the tunnels and it was like they vanished into smoke… and I was alone. It was only seconds before I heard A Machine and then I had a death screen and I hear “You met Trevor!” and that’s when I really knew I was enjoying the game. Because what do you mean Trevor? Who’s Trevor? The scary machine that I’m running from with more fear in my heart than when I had actual honest to god lightning strike next to me in a field? That’s Trevor? We know him? Sure fuck it hey Trevor I’m just trying to get a gun my pals say is good lemme squeeze on past ya there bud.
