You can want love deeply and still refuse to chase it.
Mastering detachment while longing for connection is one of the hardest balances to learn because it asks you to hold two truths at once: that you are human and wired for closeness, and that you are healed enough to walk away from what costs you your peace. It’s wanting intimacy without bargaining for it. It’s feeling the ache for connection without letting that ache talk you into situations that don’t meet you fully.
Detachment isn’t about pretending you don’t care. It’s learning how to sit with desire without turning it into urgency, and how to honor loneliness without using it as an excuse to lower your standards. It’s choosing to be alone rather than emotionally half-chosen. It’s trusting that what’s meant for you won’t require you to abandon yourself to keep it.
This kind of maturity is quiet. No dramatic exits. No chasing. No proving. Just the steady decision to stop forcing connections that don’t offer safety, reciprocity, or clarity. You stop asking for reassurance and start paying attention to patterns. You stop romanticizing potential and start respecting reality.
Wanting love doesn’t make you weak. But staying where love is inconsistent, unclear, or conditional does slowly wear you down. Detachment is the practice of saying, I still want connection — I just won’t sacrifice myself to find it.
And the paradox is this: the moment you stop grasping, you become more open. More grounded. More available to the kind of love that doesn’t feel like survival, but like home.
You’re allowed to want love.
You’re also allowed to wait for one that doesn’t ask you to betray yourself in the process❣️

November……
The second-last chapter of the year.
You can feel the shift, the quiet, the weight of everything this year has been.
You think back to January, to the person you were, the plans you made, the things you thought would last forever ~ and then, everything changed.
And you did too.
But you're still standing. Still trying.
There are still pages left to write, memories left to make, words left to say.
Don't rush past them.
Make these last chapters mean something.❣️
Just a note to Democrats and liberals Communists about today's memorial service!!
