hey, so i was rereading your disneyland fic (for some sweet relief after the last chapter of azalea) and thereās this part where lestat and claudia discuss a new number similar to the mardi gras float action in the show. and since all of lestatās drag numbers in azalea have been great so far, i wanted to ask if you had a song in mind for the marie antoinette baby eating number? :)
you know what! I have no idea, the way I think of Lestatās routines is pretty chicken-and-egg where I kind of have an idea of either what song or what act sheās gonna do, and then build the rest around it ā but this was done before I really plotted out azalea, so idk what the music would be! Feel free to provide your own interpretation; I would love to know.

ok hi so i love literally everything about live at the azalea & so dawn goes down to day, but one thing i especially love about dawn goes down is how you exposit with memory and thought instead of flashbacks, it makes the characters feel so lived-in but also keeps the drama interesting with the occasional reveals of what has/hasn't happened. all that is to say, it may have been mentioned in a passage i forgot but i was wondering, does claudia know about antoinette? like obvi she knows about the cheating (arguably too much about it) but is she aware it wasn't a typical hoe era and moreso one specific mistress whom she could potentially recognize at the ballet? also on antoinette, i find it really interesting that she (a blonde french woman with a history with lestat) was cast as both a bride and renfield, a male character who's psychosexually obsessed with lestat's character. is that a bit of armanipulation based in knowledge of gabrielle, or was belinda just working a crazy job before getting pregnant?
separately, how did claudia learn of the lesmand lore, since she had that line about how lestat could get principal even if he sucked ass. like it's very clearly true but how does *she* know?
feel free to not answer any of this if they're spoilers, i just really love the sorta webby view of the past in dawn goes down and how past events/relationships are revealed and was curious if stuff like this was to be kept in your mind or in a future custody-weekend brunch lol

sort of depressing tbh. I will freely admit that I donāt know how foster/adoption works in the US but Claudia came to Louis via kinship care after being in the care system for a while, and he thought (correctly or not) that it would be better to have a husband than a gay live-in partner when it came to actually adopting her, and so they were married in a rush job with two random witnesses around the corner from the church where he always thought heād get married. but just because itās a rush job doesnāt mean they donāt mean it, and they definitely both view it as a lasting commitment .

this is so kind!!! thank you!! Tbh the hardships are mostly inconveniences, itās mainly that I work a mentally demanding job so coming home and expending mental energy is sometimes tricky but always very rewarding.

Hmm!!! this is an interesting question that you asked a while ago. the answer is no, but also no one in my real life knows about it ā in an old fandom I got into an irl relationship with a fellow writer, and it was nice to have a partner know the whole of me so to speak, but I also donāt feel strange about keeping it private from my close friends/partner irl now. I hope this answers your question!

despise it! it destroys the planet and is bad for our brains and I think thereās something soulless and deeply evil about it. very insidious, Iām sure there are examples that are so good that Iām not spotting them, but I would rather look at the worst drawing ever drawn by a human artist than the best picture gen ai has ever produced.
