Around The World In 80 Men by Brandi & Rebecca Ratliff - Review & Recommendation
Around The World In 80 Men Books 1 â 10 by Brandi and Rebecca Ratliff Review & Recommendation
So, I just finished reading Around The World In 80 Men Book 1 â 10 and, as I thought I would be, Iâm so frustrated that I refuse to break my rule about buying E-Books! Let me review this before I explain that a little betterâŚ
Review: Books 1 â 10 1. Around The World In 80 Men 2. Scotland 3.Australia 4.Italy 5.Ireland 6.Hawaii 7.Brazil 8.New Zealand 9.Sweden 10.Florida
Some of the books are better than others, but the beginning of this series is FANTASTIC as a whole. After reading book 1 â Around The World In 80 Men I was hooked. I fell in love with Morgan Hollandâs character and I couldnât wait to find out where her new adventure was going to take her.
New characters are introduced in every new book (some old characters stick around too) which makes it that much more exciting and interesting. Like with any series youâre going to like some characters and youâre going to dislike some characters but as long as you continue to love the main character than thatâs all that matters, am I right? Of course! Morgan Holland is a GREAT, loveable character; Iâm sure sheâs even relatable in some ways to most people.
I canât say much about the other characters because learning about the new characters in each book is part of the excitement and I could never take that away from a reader. All I can tell you is READ these books and fall in love with these characters yourself.
The only thing I can complain about with these books is some editing errors that are pretty distracting at times, for example; in MY copy of book 10 â Florida from Amazon.ca the wrong name is used once, I kid you not, that was pretty confusing for a second. Also there are some repeat sentences, spelling mistakes and just general editing errors that make books a little less enjoyableâŚbut I still enjoyed these books thoroughly based on content.
Recommendation: I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good light erotica from time to time. This series has a great story along with some steamy scenes, itâs very enjoyable and enticing! -
Now⌠I bet youâre wondering what I meant when I said I wonât be finishing these books because I have a rule about buying E-Books. I simply refuse to pay for E-Books, I will only read E-Books when they are free because I would much rather hold a book in my hands than read on my E-Reader. This is simply a personal preference; because of it I spend my money on actual books instead of E-Books. It may seem silly but thatâs just how I do things. If I see an E-Book that looks interesting on Amazon and it happens to be free than HELL YEAH Iâll read itâŚbut only if itâs free!
I would love to finish this series and I WILL if I can ever get the rest of it for free. Currently there are 27 books in this series and there will be 80 in total once Rebecca and Brandi Ratliff are finished writing this series.
Some day maybe Iâll get lucky and Iâll get to finish this series because it really is fantastic! - I donât believe Books 1 â 10 are available for free on Amazon anymore, but I could be wrong, check out the link below to find out. Find out more about this series and support the authors Rebecca Ratliff and Brandi Ratliff HERE.
Have you read Around The World In 80 Men Books 1 â 10? Let me know what your thoughts were!

Throwback Thursday - Dracula by Bram Stoker
Throwback Thursday!
To stick with my St. Patrickâs Day Theme, going along with any and all things Irish for the next few weeks, Iâve chosen Dracula by Bram Stoker as this weeks Classic Novel!
Dracula is a well-known Classic Novel, but did you know that Bram Stoker is Irish? Well, he is! Which is why I chose this book for this weeks Throwback Thursday.
Dracula by Bram Stoker
Genre: Horror, Gothic Published: 26th May 1897 Publisher: Archibald Constable and Company (UK) Pages: 488
About: Dracula is an 1897 Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker.
Famous for introducing the character of the vampire Count Dracula, the novel tells the story of Draculaâs attempt to move from Transylvania to England, and the battle between Dracula and a small group of men and women led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing.
Dracula has been assigned to many literary genres including vampire literature, horror fiction, the gothic novel and invasion literature. The novel touches on themes such as the role of women in Victorian culture, sexual conventions, immigration, colonialism, and post-colonialism. Although Stoker did not invent the vampire, he defined its modern form, and the novel has spawned numerous theatrical, film and television interpretations. -
Have you read Dracula? Let me know what you thought!

February Book Haul!
February Book Haul!
This months Book Haul is not nearly as large as Januaryâs Book Haul, that was pretty insane. I did find a few books thrifting and I ordered a few online that I havenât received yet (which is strange because I ordered them on Feb. 20th and normally it only takes up to a week to receive books from Chapters/Indigo) but I still count them as part of my February Haul because I purchased them in February; so while they arenât in this photo Iâll tell you a little bit about them anyway!
I bought a total of 10 books this month, 5 of which I thrifted (I forgot to include one of those in this photo as well, oops.) 1 I bought in store at Chapters and the remaining 4 are currently being shipped to me (they need to hurry up and get here!).
Iâll start with the books in this photo. 1. An Irish Country Doctor by Patrick Taylor 2. If She Only Knew by Lisa Jackson 3. Mr. Paradise by Elmore Leonard 4. Night World Vol. 2 by L.J. Smith 5. Night World Vol. 3 by L.J. Smith
Not in this photo because I forgot one (sorry!) and the rest are currently being shipped to me. 6. Sextrology by Starsky and Cox 7. If There Be Thorns by V.C. Andrews 8. Seeds of Yesterday by V.C. Andrews 9. Garden of Shadows by V.C. Andrews 10. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Now Iâll give you a little information about why I purchased each of these books, not that you always need a reason, right?
1. An Irish Country Doctor by Patrick Taylor I wanted to try reading something different, so I honestly just went into Chapters and picked something off the Fiction shelves that intrigued me. Iâll let you know what I think!
2. If Only She Knew by Lisa Jackson I have Lisa Jackson on Facebook but Iâve NEVER read any of her books, itâs odd how that happens sometimes. I wanted to read one of her books so I can know a little more about her as an author.
3. Mr. Paradise by Elmore Leonard Iâll be honest, I bought this one for my boyfriend because he likes Elmore Leonard; Iâve never read anything by Elmore Leonard but I definitely plan on reading this and some of the other books my boyfriend has by him.
4 and 5. Night World Vol. 2 and Night World Vol. 3 by L.J. Smith Iâve mentioned before that I like L.J. Smith and Iâve read Night World Vol. 1 so I figured why not finish the series? I usually like to have complete sets of seriesâ so thatâs the main reason I bought these.
6. Sextrology by Starsky and Cox Iâve already read through this one, I do enjoy astrology from time to time and the compatibility of couples based on their star signs so I decided to pick this book up and give it a read. It was a little boring, but there were some interesting parts in there; Iâm not entirely sorry I purchased it.
7, 8 and 9. If There be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday and Garden of Shadows by V.C. Andrews If youâve been following my blog youâll know that I recently read Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind by V.C. Andrews; I REALLY enjoyed those books so I wanted to finish the series. Simple enough.
10. Divergent by Veronica Roth Iâm pretty sure Iâm the only person left who hasnât read this series yet (okay, maybe Iâm exaggerating a little) so I wanted to pick up the first book and see if I like it; it was time to jump on the Divergent band wagon.
-
So there you have it! Iâm glad I got some more new books to read, I always am. Look out for reviews on my blog Iâm always reading and Iâm always writing about what I read!
What books did you purchase in February?
Have a great weekend! XoxxO - BiblioJesso
February Book of the Month: P.s. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern - Review
February Book of the Month: P.s. I Love You Review
P.s. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
Publisher: Thorndike Press Published: April 2004 Genre: Romance, Drama Pages: 655 (hardcover) 512 (paperback)
Read More about P.s. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern or Purchase it HERE.
Review: I read through this book fairly quickly because the author got me interested from the very beginning and kept me interested through-out the entire novel. I love it when that happens! If you can pick up a book and get so drawn into it that you refuse to put it down for any reason than Iâd say youâre reading a pretty great book, am I right?
Hollyâs story was so emotional and real; I felt like this novel could have been a memoir instead of fiction (Iâm sure I mentioned that in my Mid-Review). Cecelia Ahern did a wonderful job writing this novel; the characters were all very different and they all had their own stories to tell which was a great bonus to Hollyâs story, the love story was powerful and it made me laugh and cry (both happy tears and sad tears).
Overall I just think this book is a great one and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of romanceâŚno, not romance; love. If you are a fan of love than you should read this novel. Just make sure you have some tissues on hand when you do. -
I hope you read along with me this month because P.s. I Love You is a great read! If you have read it, what did you think? Let me know in the comments below. Stay tuned to my blog on March 1st for the reveal of Marchâs Book of the Month! XoxxO - BiblioJesso
February Book Wrap Up

What book will I start on March 1st? Well, thatâs a surprise!
All in all I read 11 books this month, I guess thatâs not TOO bad, I feel I could have read more this month.
What books did you read in February 2014?

Throwback Thursday - The Great Gatsby
Throwback Thursday!
This weeks Throwback Thursday Classic is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I chose this book this week because it is one of my all time favorite classic novels. I have read The Great Gatsby three times so far and I plan on reading it again, as many times as I can in this life time.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald About: Published: April 10th 1925 Publisher: Charles Scribnerâs Sons Genre: Fiction, Drama Pages: 218
In 1922, F. Scott Fitzgerald announced his decision to write âsomething newâsomething extraordinary and beautiful and simple and intricately patterned.â That extraordinary, beautiful, intricately patterned, and above all, simple novel became The Great Gatsby, arguably Fitzgeraldâs finest work and certainly the book for which he is best known. A portrait of the Jazz Age in all of its decadence and excess, Gatsby captured the spirit of the authorâs generation and earned itself a permanent place in American mythology. Self-made, self-invented millionaire Jay Gatsby embodies some of Fitzgeraldâsâand his countryâsâmost abiding obsessions: money, ambition, greed, and the promise of new beginnings. âGatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but thatâs no matterâtomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms fartherâŚ. And one fine morningââ Gatsbyâs rise to glory and eventual fall from grace becomes a kind of cautionary tale about the American Dream.
Itâs also a love story, of sorts, the narrative of Gatsbyâs quixotic passion for Daisy Buchanan. The pair meet five years before the novel begins, when Daisy is a legendary young Louisville beauty and Gatsby an impoverished officer. They fall in love, but while Gatsby serves overseas, Daisy marries the brutal, bullying, but extremely rich Tom Buchanan. After the war, Gatsby devotes himself blindly to the pursuit of wealth by whatever meansâand to the pursuit of Daisy, which amounts to the same thing. âHer voice is full of money,â Gatsby says admiringly, in one of the novelâs more famous descriptions. His millions made, Gatsby buys a mansion across Long Island Sound from Daisyâs patrician East Egg address, throws lavish parties, and waits for her to appear. When she does, events unfold with all the tragic inevitability of a Greek drama, with detached, cynical neighbor Nick Carraway acting as chorus throughout. Spare, elegantly plotted, and written in crystalline prose, The Great Gatsby is as perfectly satisfying as the best kind of poem. -
I absolutely love this story; The best thing about it is the fact that the story is told by a rather âboringâ, âuninterestingâ narrator, Nick Carraway, who sort of stands on the sidelines and tells the story from a totally different perspective than you would see in novels these days.
Thatâs all Iâll say because I donât want to give away any spoilers here, but I highly recommend this novel.
Enjoy a Classic every now and again. XoxxO - BiblioJesso

Savory Saturday - Doctor Who Edition!
Savory Saturday â Doctor Who Edition! Traceyâs Culinary Adventuresâ Blue Velvet Cupcakes Recipe & Review
Or as I like to call them; Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Blue Velvet Cupcakes.Â
Here is the âHow Toâ as explained by Tracy from Tracyâs Culinary Adventures. I didnât change a thing, I just didnât have any violet food coloring, so my cupcakes turned out a little more tealâŚish. Youâll see.
Hereâs a photo of Tracyâs Cupcakes, they look so good!
This recipe yields 16 â 20 Cupcakes (I got 19)
Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups Cake Flour 1 1/2 cups Sugar 1 tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder 1 teaspoon Baking Soda 1 teaspoon Salt 2 Large Eggs, at room temperature 1 1/4 cups Vegetable Oil 1 cup Buttermilk, at room temperature 1 tablespoon Wilton Dark Blue Gel Food Coloring 1 tiny dab Wilton Violet Gel Food Coloring 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1 teaspoon White Vinegar
How To: Preheat oven to 350 F. Line cupcake pans with paper liners.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, oil, buttermilk, food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar. Whisk vigorously until well combined and smooth. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and whisk until smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared liners, filling each about 2/3 to 3/4-full. Bake for 17-19 minutes, or until the tops spring back when lightly pressed with your fingertip and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let the cupcakes cool for a few minutes then remove them from the pans to cool completely.
- Tracy also has a recipe for Buttercream Icing to go with these cupcakes. I prefer Cream Cheese Icing so I used that instead, but of course if you would like to check out Tracyâs full recipe and her blog you can do that HERE.
Review: These cupcakes are so easy to make! The last time I attempted to make a Red Velvet Cake I must have had the WORST recipe ever because it was so dense and disgusting and it took forever to make. Iâm so glad I stumbled across this recipe because it will definitely be better for making Red Velvet Cake or Cupcakes. The cupcakes are very moist and fluffy, not to mention tasty! I recommend giving this recipe a try.
- Obviously I chose Blue Velvet Cupcakes to go with my Doctor Who theme because the Tardis is blue and it just fit so well. Now, would you like to see my finished product?

Cosmopolitan Magazine's February Reads & Drink Recipe
Cosmopolitan Magazine January Reads! & A drink to go along with them
This months featured reads is Cosmopolitan are:
1. Never Have I Ever: My Life (So Far) Without A Date by Katie Heaney About: "I've been single for my entire life. Not one boyfriend. Not one short-term dating situation. Not one person with whom I regularly hung out and kissed on the face."
So begins Katie Heaney's memoir of her years spent looking for love, but never quite finding it. By age 25, equipped with a college degree, a load of friends, and a happy family life, she still has never had a boyfriend...and she''s barely even been on a second date.
Throughout this laugh-out-loud funny book, you will meet Katie's loyal group of girlfriends, including flirtatious and outgoing Rylee, the wild child to Katie's shrinking violet, as well as a whole roster of Katie's ill-fated crushes. And you will get to know Katie herself -- a smart, modern heroine relaying truths about everything from the subtleties of a Facebook message exchange to the fact that "Everybody who works in a coffee shop is at least a little bit hot."
Funny, relatable, and inspiring, this is a memoir for anyone who has ever struggled to find love, but has also had a lot of fun in the process.
Read More about Never Have I Ever or Purchase it HERE.
2. The Good Luck of Right Now by Matthew Quick About: For almost four decades, Bartholomew Neil has done nothing but live with his mom. When she begins calling him Richard-for reasons unknown-and then dies, Bartholomew is woefully unprepared. A clue comes in the form of a "Free Tibet" letter he finds in his mother's underwear drawer, and so Bartholomew awkwardly starts his new life, writing Richard Gere a series of highly intimate fan letters. Jung's' theory of synchronicity, the mystery of women, the Dalai Lama's teachings, alien abduction, cat telepathy and the Catholic Church are all explored in-depth by Bartholomew's epistles-but mostly the letters outline one man's heartbreakingly earnest attempt to assemble a family of his own.
A struggling priest, a "girlbrarian", her foul-mouthed brother and Richard Gere (well, sort of) join the quest. In a rented Ford Focus, they travel to Canada in search of Bartholomew's biological father and end up finding so much more.
Read More about The Good Luck of Right Now or Purchase it HERE.
3. For Today I Am A Boy by Kim Fu About: At birth, Peter Huang is given the Chinese name Juan Chaun, meaning powerful king. He is the exalted only son in a family of daughters, the one who will finally fulfill his father's dreams of Western masculinity. But Peter has different dreams: he knows that he is a girl.
Peter and his sisters-elegant Adele, shrewd Helen and Bonnie the bon vivant-grow up in a house of many secrets, then escape the confines of small-town Ontario and spread from Montreal to California to Berlin. Peter's own journey is obstructed by playground bullies, masochistic lovers, Christian ex-gays and the ever-present shadow of his father.
Sensitive, witty and stunningly assured, Kim Fu's debut novel is a coming-of-age tale like no other, one that lays bare the costs of forsaking one's' own path in deference to a road mapped out by others. Both lyrical and unflinching, For Today I Am a Boy shows us an unforgettable struggle: the story of a woman in the body of a Chinese-Canadian man and marks the emergence of an astonishing new Canadian literary voice.

- Can I have them all? I think Cosmopolitan did a really great job in picking some interesting reads this month. At least they appear to be interesting. Have you read one or all of these books? Let me know what you thought!
Now that you have some books to read, why not make a cocktail to go with them?
Here is a drink recipe found in this months Cosmopolitan Magazine:
"Tall Drink of Water" Ingredients: 1 1/2 Ounces Vodka 1 Ounce Cranberry Juice 1 Ounce Lemonade Sparkling Wine Cranberries for garnish
Shake first 3 ingredients in a cocktail shaker, strain into a champagne glass filled with ice and top with wine. Garnish with cranberries.
Sounds like "Tall Drink of Water" would have made a great cocktail for Valentine's Day; I'll keep it in mind for next year! -
Don't forget to check out Cosmopolitan's Subscription Service. They are affordable and it's a great magazine! You can find out more about it and get a subscription HERE.
Let me know if you decide to give any of these novels a try, or if you try out this drink recipe in the comments below. I'd love to hear your opinions!

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser VoxBox from Influenster
Last week I received a Mystery Box from Influenster with sample size products of Shampoo, Conditioner and a Split End Serum; the brand was unknown the only information I got was that the products were from LâOreal Canada. Needless to say I was pretty ecstatic. I love trying new products!
Review: Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Shampoo About: Formulated for distressed, damaged hair, Damage Eraser shampoo reconstructs & preserves hairâs strength by 90% from root to tip. The formula contains Phyto-KeratinÂŽ Complex with plant based proteins and fruit concentrate & Cupuaçu Butter, with natural lipids. Hair is stronger and looks rejuvenated.
I found that this shampoo gave a very thorough cleansing of my hair and I only needed a tiny little bit (about the size of a dime) to get tons of lather and all over coverage. Mind you, I currently have above shoulder length hair. I was thrilled that I could get so much use out of such a tiny bottle of shampoo. I still have over half of the sample size left and I now have an entire full size bottle; I should be set for shampoo for quite some time. Not only does this shampoo go a long way, clean wonderfully and lather nicely it also smells wonderful and makes my hair soft and full of bounce. For once I feel like all those hair care commercials arenât lying!
- Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Conditioner About: Formulated for distressed, damaged hair, Damage Eraser conditioner reconstructs & preserves hairâs strength by 90% from root to tip. The formula contains Phyto-KeratinÂŽ Complex with plant-based proteins and fruit concentrate & Cupuaçu Butter, with natural lipids. Hair is stronger and looks rejuvenated. I use conditioner far more often than I use shampoo. I have course, thick, curly hair that has a hard time holding moister; leaving me with dry brittle hair if I wash it too often so I wash my hair once or twice a week but I condition my hair every day. Therefore it is imperative that I have a nice hydrating conditioner on hand at ALL times. I feel like this conditioner is the perfect one for me. After only two uses my hair felt lighter and softer, I couldnât help myself from running my fingers through it continuously. I find a lot of conditioners will leave an unwanted residue which makes my hair greasy instead of hydrated; Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Conditioner is perfect.
- Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Split End Serum About: Formulated with Phyto-KeratinÂŽ complex and cupuaçu butter, each drop helps prevent split ends and reconstructs and preserves hairâs strength. Apply on towel-dried hair to fragile or damaged areas daily.
I have been using this product but I canât say much about it at this time because I recently got all my dry split ends chopped off. I havenât noticed a difference in my split ends but that is probably because they are currently healthy enough.
- Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Reconstructing Butter About: Formulated for distressed, damaged hair, this rich, indulgent butter is designed to intensely reconstruct hairâs strength for strong, rejuvenated and shiny-looking hair. The formula contains Phyto-KeratinÂŽ Complex with plant-based proteins and fruit concentrate & Cupuaçu Butter, with natural lipids. Use weekly after shampooing.
Since I just received this bonus product today I havenât had the chance to try it yet, once I do I will update this section and do a proper review of it. It sounds lovely though doesnât it? I canât wait to try it out!
- If you would like more information about these Garnier Fructis products you can find that HERE.
I have to say I have bleached my hair numerous times in order to dye it fun colors and I use a straightener on the regular not to mention the winter damage, sun damage, etc. If these products can bring life back into my hair, Iâm sure it can bring life back into anyoneâs hair!
Have you tried any of these products let me know what you think!

FEBRUARY BOOK OF THE MONTH: P.S. I LOVE YOU â MID-BOOK REVIEW & CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE SUMMARY *SPOILERS
February Book of the Month: P.s. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern Mid-Book Review and Chapter Twenty-Five Summary
Chapter Twenty-Five Summary Please note: This is a full summary of Chapter Twenty-Five, there are spoilers.
Chapter Twenty-Five begins with Holly entering her parents backyard to attend her sister Ciaraâs Birthday Party, a Birthday Barbecue, as it were. All of Hollyâs friends are there, though her brother Jack isnât in attendance which Holly finds strange. Apparently Jack hasnât been around much since Holly asked him to help her clean out her home of Gerryâs things; Holly and Jack used to be the closest out of all her siblings and it makes Holly feel ill at ease.
After giving Ciara her Birthday present Holly approaches her brother Richard to ask him if heâs been the one tidying her garden, since someone has been doing this favor for Holly while sheâs not at home and she cannot figure out who is doing it. Richard insists heâs not the one tidying Hollyâs garden so Holly asks a few other people if theyâre the âleprechaunâ doing it, she seems a bit crazed about it until Ciara steps in and asks the entire party if anyone there has been tidying Hollyâs garden. After that little fiasco, Holly is slightly embarrassed but she moves on to hang out with her friends, ignoring the issue regarding her garden for the time being.
Holly and Daniel discuss Danielâs recent trip to Miami and her trip to Spain that Gerry had planned for her, Denise and Sharon before he passed. Holly asks Daniel if he went to Miami with a woman because Ciara would be ever so jealous if he did; Daniel then explains that he has been single for a few months since his last relationship of seven years didnât work out. Despite Ciara wanting Holly to invite Daniel to the party so she could get to know him better and âhave his babiesâ she is too busy flirting with every other bachelor to pay much attention to him.
As if right on que, Ciaraâs ex-boyfriend enters the backyard with a huge bouquet of flowers, expressing his undying love for her. Ciara couldnât have had a better Birthday.
After Ciaraâs Birthday party Holly goes for drinks with her friends Denise, Tom and Daniel; because Denise and Tom canât seem to keep their hands off of each other long enough to pay any attention to Daniel and Holly they end up spending the night getting to know each other better.
End Chapter Twenty-Five.

Mid-Book Review: If youâve been following my blog since the beginning of February you know I chose P.s. I Love You for Februaryâs Book of the Month because I wanted a heartfelt love story in light of Valentineâs Day. Understandably P.s. I Love You is a little off the grid when it comes to the kind of love story you might expect for Valentineâs Day because it is less about love and more about finding yourself AFTER love.
I felt that P.s. I Love You would be a great pick for this month because it expresses so much about love and how loving someone affects your whole life even after theyâre gone. P.s. I Love You may not be a sappy love story full of first kisses and new-found love but it is a love story full of hope, fear, happiness, sadness and the truth about love.
The first half of this novel was great, I loved that there were so many different characters that all played an important part in Hollyâs story; some of them even have their own little story intertwined with Hollyâs. This made it seem real to me, like the story I was reading was true and not fictitious. Itâs been awhile since a fiction novel made me feel like it was REAL, like this happened to someone and this is their memoir. For that reason alone I fell in love with this story and I think Cecelia Ahern is a fantastic author, certainly an author who can make up a story, tell it, and make you believe it! Hollow City by Ransom Riggs - Review & Recommendation
Hollow City by Ransom Riggs Review & Recommendation About: Miss Peregrineâs Home for Peculiar Children was the surprise best seller of 2011-an unprecedented mix of YA fantasy and vintage photography that enthralled readers and critics alike. Publishers Weekly called it âan enjoyable, eccentric read, distinguished by well-developed characters, a believable Welsh setting, and some very creepy monsters.â
This second novel begins in 1940, immediately after the first book ended. Having escaped Miss Peregrineâs island by the skin of their teeth, Jacob and his new friends must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other unexpected surprises.
Complete with dozens of newly discovered (and thoroughly mesmerizing) vintage photographs, this new adventure will delight readers of all ages.

Review: Hollow City was JUST as amazing as Miss Peregrineâs Home for Peculiar Children. I love all the new and interesting characters that were introduced, I donât want to give anything away so I canât tell you anything about any of the new characters, but Iâm sure youâll love them too.
The story continued flawlessly, Ransom Riggs really is a fantastic author, itâs not often you see a story go from one book to another so seamlessly as Miss Peregrineâs Home for Peculiar Children goes to Hollow City. I absolutely cannot wait for the third installment.
There isnât much I can say about Hollow City that I havenât already said about Miss Peregrineâs Home for Peculiar Children, itâs best for you to read my Review & Recommendation for that novel.
Recommendation: If you loved Miss Peregrineâs Home for Peculiar Children you will love Hollow City too. I recommend these books to EVERYONE! -
