Hindus (and Buddhists!) took to temple cleaning in Sri Lanka last week, too! We're definitely going international.

Celebrations in Vrindavan included a drawing competition on the 20th, and a cleaning of the temple on the 21st. Gotta love the enthusiasm of these girls!

Updates from Mumbai!

Devotees spent time cleaning the temple in Dwarka yesterday, accompanied by our assistant project manager, Jignesh.

Earlier this week, in Vrindavan, students participated in a Hindi debate regarding the effects of urbanization on the holy city. Students engaged with ideas of green pilgrimage and environmental awareness.

In Varanasi, devotees and members of Srishti Sanrakshanam at Benares Hindu University launch a campaign to clean the holy river Ganga. 

Just had a meeting with Chandrakant Bhai (incharge of Shardapeeth, Dwarka) for tomorrow’s event. It will be cleaning of Dwarkadheesh temple and Shardapeeth.

Today I joined with NGOs and Jagannath Temple authorities to clean one of the temple tanks in Puri. Was a wonderful experience.

Have arrived in Puri. Grabbing a quick lunch before meeting with the temple administration. Hoping to participate in some of their #HEW14 activities over the next two days.

We celebrated Hindu Environment Week today at the Centre for Hindu Studies here in Oxford. Our weekly Wednesday lunch featured locally grown and organic produce -- yum! And we interns are hard at work making sure that the rest of the week runs smoothly.
