The most perverse thing I can think of at the top of my head is how Edwin keeps a collection of everything Don's ever said to him, well anyone for that matter but especially Don. He writes down almost every conversation they've had in a journal so he can remember everything word to word because he's obsessed with immortalizing every lived experience. He probably started doing this inconsistently in middle school, then regularly when he entered high school. He keeps diaries, pictures, every little trinket and trophy he won as long as he can remember because he's a very, very sentimental person.
Edwin likes reading back on his early conversations between him and Don because of the timeline of their relationship, and important conversations they've had while ruminating, but most importantly the embarrassing things both of them say during sex. Fortunately, because he's in the moment as they do it he never has an accurate recollection of the whole experience, merely the things that stuck with him. Things like “you're the only one I can do this with” or “I'm obsessed with you” and even every time Don's said “I love you” to him. He definitely looks back at these and jerks off to it, which is why I find part of this perverted… I wouldn’t say that's all there is to it though.
He does all of this because he has this killer need to immortalize the people in his life, every good memory he's had, the bad ones too, how he felt the day it happened, what was he thinking, and especially the love of his life. So he writes about it, memorises it if he can, takes pictures of Don when no one else does, so he can never forget.
Thankfully he grows out of this by his mid20s/late20s because it get to a point where he realizes no matter the medium all information rots. It will be lost! Nothing is meant to last forever.
I have not been able to draw because I've been so #busy I've been going to a doctor's appointment everyday and now that I finally have a break I want to do nothing but stare at the wall all day ... I miss drawing so until then I should be writing in its place

The easiest way to piss off James is to talk to him like he's your bitch mother because he used to be the oldest sister of four brothers and they were getting on his nerves one way or another
Don stops wearing eyeglasses when they're 14 years old and switches to contact lenses, because despite having average size eyes they're nearsighted which made them look smaller then they are. They were bullied about it as a kid and it earned them comments like "are you tired?", "you look sleepy" but most infuriatingly "oh wow you have... really asian eyes, they're really small." even though they really aren't. The same thing happens to their mother all the time and both of them would be annoyed by this

What sort of things would they fight about or cause tension in their friendship? anything theyd find annoying about each other?
AHAAAA THANK YOU GOAT... I'm really glad to hear you think so... this is a great question I've thought about this a lot but basically:
Both of them are inseparable friends but it goes without saying that it invites a lot of conflict between them. For Don, James just can be a bit too much sometimes... okay maybe a lot of times. There's a lot about him that they love and admire but hate at the same time. He's loud for one, eccentric and charismatic which makes it easier for him to befriend people which is a point of resentment for Don. On the other hand James is worried they can be too much of a pushover for trying to make themselves more appealing to others, it wouldn't be such a big deal to him if it wasn't for the fact that they use alcohol as a crutch for almost every social interaction 😬 In my mind this is the biggest conflict in their relationship. James insists they should just be themselves and quit drinking and Don retorts with "you wouldn't ever know what it's like in my head" which ... is true. They have a lot going in that neurotic brains of theirs that he doesn't, but it never justifies nearly drinking themselves to death for James.
As Don befriends people who do love and care for them in a way they never thought that was possible, they stop drinking as much as they used to because appealing to everyone isn't worth the trouble anymore. I think Don still struggles with it at times, and comes off as naturally off putting or weird to the people they're making a first impression on but the need for validation doesn't rule their life anymore. A part of it is thanks to James for pestering them about it so much...
Okay that aside there are far less serious things that bothers both of them, so here's a bullet point of their thoughts in their voices.
James thoughts are:
- They didn't laugh at my joke even though I put a lot of thought into it.
- Wakes me up earlier than I like.
- Keeps dating men who are losers, like, come on?
- Doesn't pay as much attention to me when they start seeing someone... (I thought we had something special?!?)
- One time they corrected my posture. I am still baffled by this. What's wrong with the way I stand!?
Don's thoughts are:
- He's annoying.
- He knows exactly how to grate on my nerves and finds humor in it.
- He keeps competing with the men I date. I was dating this guy once and he gifted me these expensive earrings right in front of him. Why? Him and I aren't even dating? What the fuck?
- He takes everything too personally.
- He's obnoxiously loud sometimes...
There are definitely more thoughts I could write about that they think of each other, but the end of the day the most important thing is they are best friends for life. ☝️
In my mind if neither Don and James ever end up in a relationship they'd get married in 2015 when it became legal. James would propose on the porch on a random saturday while they drank beer and Don would reply "Sure." which then they'd have a courthouse wedding and go to a nice cafe right after. This wouldn't change anything because they were already living together and having sex and raising a kid together
