Harley grinned when Josh kissed her cheek. She was glad that she was going through this pregnancy with a loving boyfriend. She wouldn’t have want it any other way. Sure she was a nervous wreck, she was afraid she wasn’t going to be motherly towards this baby. Her personality was a lot different than most women. Of course there was that little bit inside of her that was dying to come out eventually.
The blonde stared at Rex for a moment until Josh started talking. As soon as he went on about his whole speech she felt her heart drop in her chest. She knew what this was, she had been through this once before. Her and Josh never talked about marriage, or even her past. She never wanted to go through it again. Marriage to her was just a ring and a piece of paper, and she honestly didn’t believe a paper should marry you. Her heart was just beating so fast. Would Josh leave her if she said no? She loved him too much, she didn’t want to lose him.
She was starting to feel herself sweat, and once Josh popped the question Harley just stared down at the ring. All these emotions rushed inside of her and she felt so overwhelmed. She looked up into Josh’s eyes and her breathing started to get heavier, the room felt like it was just spinning. She felt weak. “I…..” She started off, she started to feel sick to her stomach and finally got up. “Excuse me.” She said before running off to the bathroom, locking herself inside.
Sitting there and waiting for her answer seemed like a whole eternity to him. Yes, it actually had been maybe a minute but for someone who was just proposing to the love of his life, it felt a way longer. And he was so positive, so optimistic that Harley would say yes. She was the perfect match for him, just as he was for her. Josh was convinced about it. But as longer he was waiting, as more he started thinking that there was actually a reason why she hesitated. But who was he to take it very serious right away. He would try to make a light joke, lighten up the mood that seemed to drop more with each second. “Usually, you don’t take so long to say yes.” he chuckled softly but seriously, he started sweating now as well. He swallowed, his heart beating faster and faster as he waited for her answer. And suddenly, Harley tried to say something. Instead, she just got up and left for the bathroom. If that was morning sickness kicking in, it couldn’t be a badder moment. But he still tried to relax. Maybe it was really just that, not the fact that she didn’t want to marry him. Getting up and following her, he found the bathroom to be locked. That was the moment where he really started questioning it.Â
“Harley, love, why did you lock yourself in there?” he asked, still trying to smile but he knew what was to come. He just wasn’t ready to admit it. “Hey, please, open the door. Morning sickness is just the start of what else is to come.” he hoped it was just that. But he knew it wasn’t. “Or did you actually got sick of my horrible way or proposing to you?” he laughed a little. It was a nervous laugh.
