â â- sorry, i kinda justâŚ. â well, he didnât really know what exactly. heâd just randomly shown up at the first front door his mind could reminder, the rain having drenched every single article of clothing heâd been wearing and his breathing completely ragged as if heâd been running. and he wasnât even going to think about the somewhat frantic, yet not frantic enough, knocking on the door.      â i didnât know where else to go. â
Beth blinked once before wordlessly stepping back from the door and opening it so he could step inside. âWhat happened?â She asked softly.
Rachel && Beth || Screams & Stuff
nott-even-mad:
Rachel forced herself calm, just listening for any trace that the girl was lying to her. Â All she could sense was fear, at least for now. Â "Youâre something, donât try to play it off like youâre not.â Â Rachel searched her mind for the thing that sheâd been told about, the thing that can tell when someone is going to die, or someone has died. It was right there, it was on the tip of her tongue, but it just wouldnât come out and she couldnât for the life of her, remember what the name of the woman was.
She backed away from Beth now, taking a seat on her bed, and looking at the floor. Â She was mumbling to herself, still trying to figure out the name of the thing that she knew the blonde girl in front of her was, but it wouldnât come to her, just wouldnât. Â "Do you find yourself in strange places a lot? Â Places where bad things happen? Â Wake up screaming in the middle of the night for no reason?â Â These were all questions, things that could be attributed to many disorders, as well as the one she had in mind, but it was all starting to click together for Rachel, and sheâd only just met the girl.
âBesides that, all of my doors and windows were locked, so how in the hell did you get into my house?â Â She wanted answers, but apparently threatening the girl was getting her nowhere, so she was going to have to try a different approach.
The breath Beth had been holding flew out when the girl stepped away. Â Now that she was feeling a little less like she should have made a will at 16 years old, she could have focus on the situation at hand. Â
The brief calm was quickly destroyed with the questions Rachel was asking.  âHow did you- how could you possibly know that?â Beth asked quickly, feeling her heart begin to jump in her chest again.  âAnd I already told you, I have no idea how the hell I ended up here.â She added shakily. Â
This was all a bit much for Beth, actually being asked the questions she asked herself. Â She couldnât convince herself that she wasnât afraid of the answers. Â She was likely losing her mind, going Eichen-worthy mental, but if she wasnât.... What in the realm of the possible could be wrong with her? But then again, the impossible hasnât been the limit in Beacon Hills for a long time.Â
Malia && Beth || Whatâs Going On?
werecoyote-ugly:
Malia sat there for a long moment, just going over in her mind what Beth had said, tapping her finger on the table.  She hadnât even realized until it was too late, that she had made an indentation on the table with her fingernail.  She wasnât exactly sure what was going on with the blonde across the table from her, but she was going to try whatever she could to figure it out.  It couldnât take long⌠could it?
âYou know, I donât think that anything is wrong with you. Â I do think that thereâs something going on in this town, and that youâre a part of it. Â You have to be, otherwise why would this be happening to you?â Â She thought back a little, to a time where there were night terrors that she herself was dealing with, but what was going on with Beth seemed far different than that. Â Who knew what was going on in this town? Â Was there some sort of test that they could do to figure out what she was, or would she just be confused for the rest of her life? Â
âWell, since I told you that Iâd help you, I think we should start figuring it out, donât you? Â I have some books, we could read through them, see if we can figure anything out from there.â Â Malia pushed the chair back, standing from the table. Â She returned shortly, carrying the books that sheâd checked out from the library, sitting them on the table, and looking over at Beth. Â "If youâve got something supernatural going on, weâll find it in one of these,â Â Malia murmured as she opened up the first of four books.
âReading.â Beth let out a sigh of relief.  âNow this I understand.â She let out a shaky laugh, pulling the next dark leather bound book towards her.  The word âsupernaturalâ definitely caught Bethâs attention, but she wasnât particularly surprised or disturbed by the idea.  At this point, Malia could probably tell her that she was being haunted by evil non-sleeping spirits and Beth would be nonplussed. Â
Beth devoured a few pages quickly, before speaking again. âDid you get these from our library? At the school?â She asked curiously. Â She had probably read three quarters of the English books at the school, but she had yet to come across many that were this old, and interesting. She traced an inky drawing of some kind of tailed creature on the page. Â
A humming feeling pulsed through her as Beth realized that she might actually figure out what was wrong with her. Â Maybe this would be the end of three hours of sleep a night, scream inducing nightmares, and feeling like she was losing her mind waking up in dark alleyways and driving to places sheâd never been.Â

âIâm not worried about catching your⌠âSocial Standing,â He made quotation marks with his fingers and shook his head. âPlus, I donât even really know you, and you canât really be that bad⌠right?â His brows furrowed as he stared the girl up and down, he knew who she was, but they hadnât really ever had a full conversation before. Sitting up in his seat, he looked over at her again.
Beth blinked when his reply lacked any cutting edge, unable to hide her surprise.  Majority of her past encounters with the elites of Beacon Hills High had ended with her crying in a bathroom stall, or at the very least scurrying to the library like shelves of books could protect her.  âMaybe I am.â The words held no fire or tension, and she offered a resigned smile.  âThatâd explain a lot, but I donât really think itâs true.âÂ

reluctant-beta:
âThat.. should I be insulted?â he snorted.
âIâd think youâd be relieved. Â I think you have enough girls vying for your romantic affection, keep me on as a friend instead.â She advised with a yoda-esque nod of wiseness.Â
simon-stilinski:
Simon blinked but nodded. âAlright, alright. Youâre fine. Youâre Stilesâ friend right? One of âem at least? Heâs just across the hall.. would you feel more comfortable if he took you home rather than me?â
âStiles doesnât really, um, Iâm fairly certain he doesnât know I exist.â Beth winced at her own bluntness. Â âIâm sorry for all of this... I really didnât mean to interrupt your day, Simon.â She sighed, looking at her hands. Â âI can probably walk from here.â She tried to map out the small town in her head, figure the amount of miles it would be to her house.Â
little-whittemore:
âItâs not a problem. In all honesty, I advise anyone and everyone, itâs just something I take the liberty of doing.â
âIâm Beth, by the way. Nice to sober-meet you.â
Malia && Beth || Whatâs Going On?
werecoyote-ugly:
Malia was almost stunned when Beth spoke again. Â The girl really had no idea how to figure out what was going on, on her own. Â It struck a chord with Malia that she didnât necessarily understand herself, but she knew that she had to help her. Â "I definitely mean more than just a vibe. Â I mean, you have to have at least some sort of feeling that something is about to go down, right?â Â She chuckled at the way sheâd phrased it, but then cut herself off, this wasnât exactly a laughing matter.
"Look, Iâm going to help you.â  Malia tapped her finger over the spiral, looking up at Beth, âYouâre right, this town has something, but I mean⌠you know some of the things, and no one here is exactly normal.  But Iâm sure you knew that too.â
âItâs like you said- I just get feelings, that sort of thing.â Beth sighed. Â âI overhear things in the halls, and Iâm not blind, I know something is going on. Â Itâs like I know all the players but I donât understand the game.â She explained, trying to word it all correctly. Â
Beth hated the helpless feeling that came with not knowing. Â Whatever was going on in Beacon Hills, she knew it was dangerous, but it was becoming more and more apparent that not understanding it could be fatal. Â âDo you have any idea what might be wrong with me?â
themaladaptivealpha:
âMost people wouldnât guess it, but Iâve kinda got a sweet tooth. Caramel macchiato it is!â Derek settled himself onto a stool and crossed his arms on the counter. âSo, howâd you get started working in the world of coffee?â
Beth got to work on the drink, but stuck to the right side of the counter so she could keep talking.  âI needed the money. Still need the money.â She replied shyly with a small shrug.  âAnd I needed the social interaction.â That much was true.  Being alone constantly had taken a toll on Beth, so she got a job where people had to talk to her.Â

âYou know why donât you try that again, a little more conviction.â She paused for a moment, taking her chin softly. âOh you can tell me the truth.â
âItâs nothing big.  Just my house is so quiet-â Beth tripped over her own words, remembering that she had to be careful about telling people the reality of her home situation.  âI mean, my parents are on a business trip, and itâs lonely.â She finished lamely.Â
Rachel && Beth || Screams & Stuff
nott-even-mad:
âIâm asking you, because youâre in my room in the middle of the night.â  Rachel was trying to keep herself calmed down, but honestly, it was a little hard to do when there was a stranger in her bedroom in the middle of the night.  Sheâd heard about things like this before, things that had happened in the past, but how did you get the person to spill.  "Youâre here in my room, you donât know how you got here, or why youâre hereâŚ. and I have no idea who the hell you are.  Youâre⌠youâre one of those things⌠youâre going to tell me that Iâm about to die.â
She paced the floor in her room, breathing heavily, trying to keep herself under control, but it was taking all of her concentration to do so. Â "Iâve heard about people like you. Â Confused as shit all the time, turning up places without knowing how they got there, never really knowing what theyâre doing from one minute to the next.â Â She paused, shaking her finger in Bethâs face, growling softly, âIf I could only remember what youâre called, that would be great.â
Rachel stopped talking now, pacing the floor again, her hands squeezing together in a fist. Â She only wished right now, that she knew exactly what was going on. Â Hell, she was probably just as confused as the other girl at this point, but she wanted answers. Â No matter what it took, she was going to get them. Â
âI am not a thing. Not a werewolf, just a measly human.â Â The blonde replied slowly. Â âI have chronic somnambulism. Probably.â She cringed. Â This was probably not a very convincing argument, but how could she begin to explain her idiosyncrasies, when she couldnât even explain it to herself?
The growl stopped Bethâs internal monologue in its tracks as it reminded her that she was talking to a wolf. Â Partially, anyway. A teenage werewolf who didnât seem to have a spectacular amount of control over the animalistic side that seemed to be more interested in killing Beth than remembering anything.Â
âCould we at least establish that I am not at risk to your general health and or safety? Iâm sure we can talk about this, you know, figure it out somehow.â Beth proposed. Â She was pretty much entirely working off of half-remembered lines from procedural cop shows.Â
dimpledxxdouchebag:
Jackson stared the girl up and down for a minute, before shaking his head, âI donât really know how to feel about that, but honestly, if it helps me sleep for a while longer, I say okay.â
âIâm pretty sure you canât âcatchâ my social standing, if thatâs what youâre concerned about.â Beth added as she slid into the seat.  âIâm fairly certain that itâs noncontagious.â
Malia && Beth || Whatâs Going On?
werecoyote-ugly:
Malia was trying to eat her pizza, but she kept thinking about the spiral that sheâd seen Beth drawing. Â She wondered if it could mean the same thing that Derek had said it meant, or if it was really just nonsense as Beth claimed. Â She wanted to believe that the girl really didnât know what she was drawing, but something about the entire situation wasnât sitting right with her.
âYou knowâŚâ  Malia started, trying to figure out how to word the statement she was about to make.  "You know, the spiral⌠especially in this town, it isnât something to play with.â  She thrummed her fingers on the table for a moment, chewing a bite of the pizza, before looking at Beth again.  "It means revenge.  It also kind of makes me wonder if thereâs something in you, struggling to pull itself from beneath the surface.â  She furrowed her brows, now seriously thinking about how sheâd found the smaller blonde.  "Thereâs got to be something there, Beth, something that wants out, that needs to be said.â
âMaybe thatâs why Iâve had an itch in my throat all week.â Beth joked, touching the dip near her collarbones subconsciously. Â âThe way you say something beneath the surface... You mean something more than just a vibe, donât you?â She asked apprehensively. Â
The spiral Beth had drawn on the table sat there plainly, not looking like much of anything.  Certainly not like a symbol of revenge.  âThis town certainly does have an underbelly, doesnât it?â She looked up to study the brunette before taking her own slice of pizza.  âItâs sort of hard to navigate.âÂ
â â- sorry, i kinda justâŚ. â well, he didnât really know what exactly. heâd just randomly shown up at the first front door his mind could reminder, the rain having drenched every single article of clothing heâd been wearing and his breathing completely ragged as if heâd been running. and he wasnât even going to think about the somewhat frantic, yet not frantic enough, knocking on the door.      â i didnât know where else to go. â

Rachel && Beth || Screams & Stuff
nott-even-mad:
Rachel leaned in close, sniffing at the other girl, before grabbing the front of her shirt, her fist clenching into it. Â She could literally smell the fear coming off of her, and she briefly thought that maybe the blonde was telling her the truth, but that thought passed as quickly as it came. Â She had to know, even if it wasnât in the front of her mind, perhaps Rachel could scare her enough to find out what had actually happened. Â But it didnât take long to realize that there was something more going on with this girl than Rachel had previously thought.
âYouâŚâ  She stopped, thinking back to the stories that sheâd been told in her old pack.  Stories of those⌠what were they called again?  The often found themselves places, and didnât know how theyâd gotten there, but they were messengers of some sort.  If only she could remember what it was now.  Maybe that would help her figure out what was going on.
She let go of the blondeâs shirt, letting her shift fade and shaking her head.  "You⌠youâre a⌠aâŚâ  Dammit, why couldnât she think of it.  What was it again?  "Iâm going to die arenât I?  Thatâs why youâre here.  Youâre here to tell me that Iâm going to die.â
âDie? You?â Bethâs fear faded for a moment, and she shook her head before she realized what she was doing. Â âWait, why are you asking me?! How would I know when youâre gonna die?â The blonde asked, growing hysterical.
As if it werenât enough to dream every night of death, and to occasionally find dead bodies, now people were asking her about death? This was too much for Beth.  She shook her head and shut her mouth.  She as done, absolutely done. Also she was probably never going to sleep again, after this incident.Â
Beth felt relief flood her system when the girlâs eyes faded back to a normal color. Â âIâm telling you, I donât know whatâs going on. Â Please believe me.â She breathed a little easier now that she wasnât being held in quite a near death position.Â
allison-silverargent:
âAre you alright? Thatâs what I asked.â
âI- um. Iâm fine.â The words were supposed to come out with some kind of conviction, but her voice trembled. Â
