The Best For Last

“And who are you? Are you a dictionary now?” 

“Yepp. I am a the dictionary of Kyle. It is very prestigious you know, rivalling Oxford and Websters and the such.” 

Kelly gasped, her eyes widening. “Dragons!” she exclaimed. “Yes! You have to save me from the dragon.”

“Of course you pick the fire breather.  But all right, if my lady says she needs saving from dragons, then from dragons i shall save her.”

“Is logicy even a word? I don’t think it is..” 

“It’s totally a word. I said it therefore it is a word.”

“I don’t thiiiink so. But we can pretend?”

“Well then we are in luck: I am an excellent pretender. What are we pretending? Dragons? Bandits? The evil vile man that your father wants you to marry?”

She raised a brow, putting her hands on her hips as she watched him bow before her. “Are you… Trying to be my prince who comes and saves me from… Something?” She giggled, narrowing her eyes playfully. “I’ll be the damsel in distress,” she said, bringing a hand up to her forehead and bowing her head back.

“Well that depends, is there something that you need saving from? If there is, I will most willingly accept this noble challenge.”

Kelly laughed, continuing to hug the boy. “Okay, okay. But just for a second.”

“A second is all I need!” Kyle was true to his word and a second or two a later pulled away and lowered himself into a playful bow, “Well thank you, my lady. It has been an honour doing business with you.”

“Sure,” he muttered while brushing his hands together. “Hey, can I ask you something?”

“Sure, what’s up?”

“Well, nobody could argue with that logic.” 

“Of course they cannot. It is the most logicy logic that there is.”

“Sorry, but its international hug a person day, therefore this had to happen!”

“Hey, it’s not that far! C’mon, you’re pretty strong. Yay! You’re the bestest.” 

“Of course I’m the bestests. That is why I am... well the bestest.”

Haha! That was fun! Yay!

“I like ice cream, can we go get some ice cream?” 

“Oh sure, I see how it is. Pick the thing furthest away for me to take you to. Fiiiiiine I suppose since I like you so much I will take you to get ice cream.”

“Yeah. But as my resident joker, isn’t that your area to cover?”

“Well I was trying but someone is so rudely trying to thwart all of my plans with this grumpy ‘why bother’ attitude.”

All right. I’m going to fall down and or hurl. Time to take a spinning break.

“Kyle, what are you doing to that poor girl?”

“It’s called having fun. Maybe you’ve heard of it.”

“I am very grateful for your help.” 

“So where to next, my lady?”

“Well I am happy to help.”
