By now I’ll assume that you’ve found and reunited with your sister, so I’ll simply offer a welcome to Chicago, and I hope you’ve settled nicely into Dalton over the past couple of days. Rachel Berry, Advanced Domme.

Well if they’ve already given you an advanced payment, I don’t think you have to worry about it falling through for the first couple of months. And who knows? Maybe some socialite (or let’s be real, their assistant) will notice your talent and ask for a commission. 

Believe it or not but your brother had managed to sell a collection of his paintings and if making just a little over three grand wasn’t enough of a reason to celebrate. It’s at this coffee house in the city, very high and mighty for when it comes to art scouts looking for new and up and coming people so if one goes in and see’s my stuff then, boom! I can be going places, so I signed a contract with them, to give them so many paintings every four months and they get to keep some of the profit but they’ve also got my contact details to give to anyone who’s eye I catch. I could really be going somewhere with this Rach.

Sounds like you’re potentially on your way, Jay. I’m very proud of you.

Right, okay, I get that because I’ve been in a few but I’ve also seen them going on and been a viewer and not a participator. So there’s that. I don’t go out looking for fights, Rach, I prefer love then fighting, because one brings me more pleasure and the other just gives me a black eye because I don’t deal well when it becomes physical. Though I’ve only been hit once and that was by accident. You probably were in the nicer places where people are nice to one another and don’t feel the need for aggression. That or you were blind to it. It’s a stereotype but it’s also kind of true. Well yeah, but I’m not really slating off New York, I love it so you know.

What’s the success?

Is that so? Are you a vegetarian, Miss? Because, if so, I’d be more than willing to keep that mind while I work on preparations for any finger food you might feel inclined to snack on during the festivities 

No every time, I might have been exaggerating a little there, but this isn’t the first time I’ve had a fight there. Oh come on, Rach. Everyone knows that New Yorkers are known for being a little bit rude, not all but some, it’s not news to anyone. 

And I’ll continue to stand by my point that if you’re the one getting into the fights, perhaps the issue of why they’re occurring in the first place lies with you. Because having been a commuter for years now, I can’t say I’ve ever been witness to an altercation. And just because that’s a stereotype, James, that doesn’t mean you need to continue to perpetuate it. Our city has its own culture and standards, and tourists should be receptive and respectful of them in the same manner they would if they travelled overseas.

Then veggies it shall be. Do you happen to be a vegetarian or vegan? Ah yes, I tend to forget about that rule since it pains me.

Well you don’t seem to let many of the rules stand in your way, Hunter. But yes, I’ve been a vegan for many years. I grew up with culinary inclined family who were able to accommodate and cook to my particular tastes,  and now I’m lucky enough to have Quinn and her many sets of skill at my side as well.

I personally prefer fruits and veggies that are in season.

I never said I wasn’t one of those damn New Yorkers, I’m proud to be one of them and yeah sure. There could have been some finger pointing my way because I didn’t exactly back down. I didn’t know I had to inform you on where I went, but I’m sorry for not letting you know that I was going back to the city. 

Well, since you’re saying that every time you ride the train there’s an altercation of some sort, I think you’re in a league of your own when it comes to New Yorkers. So please stop giving the rest of us a bad name and image.

Well I have to say that I think this is a great idea and it would be nice to have one big meal with everyone here. It’ll help us get to know those here that we don’t really talk to much. You can count me in, I have to say I’m pretty handy in the kitchen and I think I can do more than popping something in the microwave so if you need some more contribution then I’d be more than happy to help.

If you’d like to add to the growing number of dishes, be my guest, Ella. From what’s been stated, we have people preparing hometown and family recipes, or purchasing personal favorites, so whatever you’d like to do, I’m sure it’ll fit in nicely with the spread so far.

Wednesday mornings would work just fine with my schedule, Blaine. I’m an early riser, so whenever you think you can manage to crawl out of bed should be okay by me.

Sounds like a plan to me. I’ll probably poll the masses before I put in the order – see what everyone prefers. I can’t speak for everyone but knowing myself (and Carter) I think we’ll want a good bourbon or something stronger to go along with the wine. Maybe an Elijah Craig 18 year old single barrel. 

I can’t claim to have any depth of knowledge when it comes to selecting spirits, so I fully trust you, Carter, and whoever else may have the proper know how to make sure all in attendance will be well taken care of.

Rachel Berry, you are easily becoming one of my favorite people. Rock on.

I think I’ve got an idea, and I can probably twist it around to make it vegan since I think a couple people ‘round here are – if I’m right?
