okay so. identity stuff first!

the big one! nonbinary book!!!

this originally came to me in a vision a while back as a nonbinary person who likes projecting the nonbinary beam onto characters

beyond this all though i like the idea of book coming to some gender self-actualization following the end of tpot and her coming to a happier spot because of it. they really stopped identifying with being feminine after bfdia (freesmart was very much a Girls Group as per pencil's rule) but didn't realize how to really describe it until tpot. they knew what nonbinary was but being friends with taggy and winner helped them come to that realization the idea that she is Very Transgender has been said by many before me however i like this outcome for her because its my post. tfem book is great too and i also lovee demigirl book. to me though they/she nonbinary alongside this: - under pansexual umbrella somewhere - significantly autistic, her infodumping about whatever is in her pages is great but also. being a lot of conjoined pages with a front and back cover means when she moves too much sensory issues begin to arise. as such shes very particular about physical contact (specifically being touched and read, only allowed by people she approves of and at certain times) and sometimes Moving is too much. they also have food pickiness but specifically for wet foods and drinks. she doesn't mind most sensory food experiences and loves to eat but specifically doesn't like stuff which could possibly stain her as shes paper based. she takes a napkin to pizza to dry out the grease for example - has borderline personality disorder, i swear there was a part of me that thought this was verging on canon purely because of the ways she acts in bfb BUT. fear of being abandoned and impulsiveness has made her relationships rocky. after tpot though she has a good support system of just so many friends that shes able to manage it better - i dont know if this quantifies under autism but a very heightened over reliance on things being written down and specifically in her pages. recall the tpot 13 scene where she needs to look up that fishies dont like being shot at. with all that has happened in her life, she feels she needs to trust her own knowledge over common sense

friends diversion!

book has soo many friends :] she loves her friends! heres a rundown -=- price tag and her are romantic and queer. check out my blog for more of this -=- best friends are winner and pin! both of which are her best voices of reason but also people she likes being around. at some point in idfb her and pin made big amends and from then on they were still mildly distant but book trusts her a lot to tell her whats right, see the bfb 14 scene where pin confronts her about taco. in tpot they just become closer -=- ice cube is in a weird spot where they're definitely friends but don't talk as much as they used to. former would die for eachother best friends but then Shit happened. you know. both of them just want to be friends again but even then its hard to step right back into that normally -=- other cool friends include: needle, nickel, pillow, bomby, and snowball. for some more canon-divergent friendships/interactions: pen, liy, basketball, and donut -=- ex BLEH members are also in a weird spot. her and gaty still get into fights to the dismay of both of their friends. heck even taco gets along better, although still associates book with a very bad time in her life and they kinda both just agree to go their separate ways. saw and lollipop are good acquaintances but only to such an extent -=- pencil. oh dear pencil. its hard to think about a lot of post canon for her as we don't know what'll happen with her... but i have predictions im confident in. the tldr is i think in the series that redeems literally everyone (firey/leafy, four, book, pin, etc) i don't see why any different would happen to pencil. this is with some caveats though, the primary one being that she learns to not be as fixated on her past friends. her and book talk once or twice at tpot's end but afterwards, book wants nothing to do to her. they don't talk much if at all. -=- but for other freesmarters! she's still good friends with ruby and bubble. they hang out a lot go shopping together etc but don't bring the alliance up much. match and book talk somewhat after tpot, but infrequently. match focuses on sticking by pencil's side, probably.
