Star Wars really said "Anakin Skywalker had issues rooted in childhood trauma that was not his fault" but also "Anakin made his own choices as an adult for which he alone is responsible" but ALSO "In spite of the truly evil things he chose to do Anakin was still capable of being loved and redeemed" and I think that's important.

Anidala being written as the sort of couple where one spends half her life (more than half actually) putting on a mask in front of a grand public for political purposes that adhere to her career and people idolizing her for that reason (even her handmaidens whom people mistakenly view as Padmé’s closest understanders.) and no one ever really truly sees past her facade, from colleagues to personal servants then Anakin swooping in one day and meeting her as herself (Padmé Naberrie) and not as Amidala, and completely and head over heels falling into adoration with her than later down the line, real love as well and frankly didn’t seem to care that she turned out to be some royal queen in the end and still cherished her for who she was (a strong, independent, capable, and kind person promising to do right by the galaxy.) only for people to cough up stupid interpretations like “he only loved the idea of her.”
