O- oh! I’m sorry, Bentley! I hope I didn’t ruin anything.

No worries. You can't ruin anything that hasn't been started.. wrinkle maybe but not ruin.

"….what face? I’m not giving you any ‘face’" 

"Your eyebrows can be quite judgmental."

"…..you’ve laid all of this paper out in the hallway and you have no idea what you’re doing…?" 

"Don't give me that face, I know that face. The assignment is to create a piece that is twenty feet by one foot. I don't- what do you even do with that?"

"Do you need anything?" 

"An idea would be lovely," he said, gesturing to all of the blank paper.

"Why are you doing it in the hallway…..?" 

"For the shape."

"—-I’m sorry….." 

"Thank you. I'm working on a project. My apologies for needing most of the floor space."

"Bentley, you’re making me squeal. Stop being so nice to me, my face hurts from smiling. Yeah, it’s basically school stuff… I’m just too excited for the holidays and the cold weather. Oh, like study buddies! That’d be so cool, dude, but I don’t want to just copy your work. You’re amazing."

"I'm not going to stop unless you give me a reason to be mean," he teased, playfully bumping Jeremiah's shoulder with his own. "Exactly like that. We have all the same core classes together, it just makes sense. And hush, I am not."

"No, not at all." He chuckled, taking the time to invest in Bentley’s story. "You enjoy that; the cooking?" Montreal pried in his own way, drinking from the cuppa before drawing in his upper lip in thought. "Distance is supposed to make the heart grow fonder… I used to believe that anyway. I went for my brother—he didn’t know. I was trying to… fix things."

"I do, in fact. It's a useful skill to have and one I profit from being out here alone. One can only take so much of cafeteria pizza, right?" Bentley asked with a small laugh. He could sense the upcoming subject was more sensitive than his kitchen hobby, but Monty hadn't outright denied access or obviously skirted around the issue entirely so he took the partial answer as permission to continue to tread carefully. "Fix what type of things? Was it for the brother who used to attend here? I hope you were able to sort things either way."

"Y’know, I was told I wasn’t supposed to talk to strangers, but we can fix the ‘stranger’ part pretty quickly, can’t we?"

"Absolutely. I'm Bentley Quinn, it's a pleasure to meet you. I hope you're settling into school fairly well."
