I came to a scary conclusion: Rey has no character development in TROS. She gets some video game upgrades: a bunch of new skills, some training and two family names, but 0 character development. Worse, her character development from TLJ is completely erased. 😤😤

Also, I hate it when creators force this type of ending in order to “complete the circle” and to force a certain type of imagery, even if it does not fit the character/plot.

It’s ok for Sam to return to the Shire at the end, because it was where he was most happy, but it wouldn’t have been ok for Harry to return to the cupboard under the stairs from the Dursley house. That’s why George Lucas didn’t put Luke back on Tatooine at the end of ROTJ.

It just shows superficiality. D&D made Jon riding content beyond the wall because they wanted it to mimic their first scene in the show, completely ignoring that Jon was unhappy most of the time at the Night’s Watch.

Abrams did the same for Rey, put her with a droid on a dead planet, because that’s where she and Luke started, disregarding everything about them. It’s completely self masturbatory.
