I swear, every time I sign on to check on Terra, suddenly I have a bunch of FFXIV characters following her. IS THERE SOMETHING GOING ON I’M NOT AWARE OF? Are Terra’s milkshakes just that enticing???

Her head was hurting again. Terra had been staring at the campfire longer than necessary, becoming lost in thoughts and attempting to recall memories locked away. One memory, in particular, was the first that had been recalled during her skirmish in Narshe and it truly terrified her. Had she really burned so many soldiers to death...?

It was warm. Terra hadn’t been expecting that, but it wasn’t unpleasant. Squall must’ve been tired. Through experience, she knew he often hid his feelings. It must’ve been serious. Was he okay? Or maybe he was showing, rather telling, his feelings? He definitely was more action based.

I just realized I haven’t done a starter call for followers!!!

She didn’t know the differences in culinary arts. Baking, boiling, grilling, etc were all under “cooking” for her. No one had taught her otherwise. At least, not yet. Her mind began to fill up with different things she generally enjoyed making. Cakes and pies were nice for a treat - although she recalled liking the little tarts she attempted once.

Mask

You hide your pain behind a mask,. Maybe you feel you can't be helped, maybe you think no one cares, maybe you don't want to hurt anyone else with it, you're afraid of being judged, or maybe there's another reason. But whatever the reason, you fake a smile and try to function normally even though you're one step away from falling apart. Secretly, you wish someone would notice it's a mask, ask you if you're really okay, see right through and make it be okay somehow. You're hurt and a little angry that no one's noticed yet, but you'll never admit it.

Suddenly, he’s distracted by Aeris and Squall.

“Shit. Hey–!!”

“I think she did it on purpose.” (Always asking personal things and then making a vague statement that’s got no choice but to follow the pattern… She’s going to piss off the wrong person and end up face down in a sewer pipe.) “

“…I guess.”

“But you don’t have to be embarrassed around me. I know about this kind of stuff too. I can…” He sighed. “…I dunno. I’m just a big dumb old man, I guess. Forgive me.”

“…Nothing. It’s nothing.”

Chided, he stood there, almost alarmed by how quickly she managed to placate him. It… was quite nice, actually. Since when did she become the one comforting him?

“I mean… I like the guy alright. I just… why would you keep this from me…?”
