Can you tell me when does the FL of Under The Power fall for the ML? I just started this so can't wait for cute moments between the two I already like both characters/actors.
Sure! It's a very slow burn Drama. But you can see some lovely cute moments between them as soon as episode 9 with the umbrella scene. Then the cute moments just progress from there. (Cue the hot spring scene around episode 13 or the lovely childlike scene in 28-30). The progression of Lu Yi's tenderness towards Jin Xia is something you definitely will enjoy watching. The subtle changes in his expressions and the certain words that he chooses to say all matter to the progression of how beautiful their slow burn is.

Lin Ling finds out about the Lu family’s role in the massacre of the Xia and Lin family. Wanting to take revenge, she tries to kill Lu Yi to atone for their family. Of course, because of Lu Yi’s righteousness, he readily accepts. Jin Xia protects him and begs for his life.This is moment is the last we see of Lu Yi and Lin Ling’s interactions together as Jin Xia and Lu Yi’s existing love for one another puts a wedge between the newly acknowledged familial relationship between Jin Xia and Lin Ling .
Later Jin Xia, summoned by Lu Ting (Lu Yi’s father), goes to Lu Mansion. She is given a scroll by Lu Ting that has the ability to exonerate and restore the Xia family honor. She shows this scroll to Lin Ling. Lin Ling acknowledges the importance of the scroll and tells Jin Xia to keep it safe.
This episode would have to be the most heartbreaking episode since it truly shows the gravity of why Lu Yi could not be with Jin Xia anymore. The drama does a great job of closing the chapter of animosity between Jin Xia and Lu Yi.
However, Lin Ling and Lu Yi never get that closure. We see Lin Ling in the last episode (Episode 55) feeling relieved at Yan Shi Fan’s death and in the last half where we see her giving prenatal medications to Shanguan Xi and Yang Yue. Seeing Lu Yi and Jin Xia rekindling their relationship after Lu Yi gets out of prison, begs the question on how Lin ling would react to the son of the man that killed her family being alive, out of prison, and about to marry her niece.
Realistically speaking, Lin Ling’s wounds run so deep that she is unable to truly forgive Lu Yi. Its expected that she would feel a sense of betrayal from her niece. The book explains this wonderfully and gives the reader a closure of sorts between them. I only wish they actually included it in the drama
Book spoilers ahead of Chapter 131
Lin Ling has a conversation with Uncle Beggar about Jin Xia and Lu Yi and her deep hatred.
Uncle Beggar tells Lin Ling that she can’t blame Jin Xia for not feeling the same hatred as her. Jin Xia never really knew her real family and does not have a sincere attachment to them as she can’t even remember what her mother and father looked like. He also reminds her that he is also part of the Lu family albeit a distant relative. If she wants to take out her hatred on someone, she cant take it out of him too but he tells her this knowing that she doesn’t have the guts to do it. He then tells her by taking revenge, she will die, referencing her almost death by revenge on Yan Shi Fan. Most importantly, he reminds her that only by surviving and living well can you have hope.
Lin Ling cries as she tries to release her hatred. She eventually decides to leave Jin Xia with Uncle Beggar to be away for some peace. She says good bye to Jin Xia
“When your uncle and I settle down in the future, maybe we will write to you, or maybe not... actually it might be better not to. Your uncle said being alive is more important thatn anything. You have to keep living, my sister and brother in law finally let you excape, You should be alive.”
Lin Ling then talks to Lu Yi ouside (Lu Yi and Jin Xia still talk and care for one another even after finding out about her family in the book)
She looks at him indifferently and asks “Do you think you can still be with her?”
Lu Yi said dryly “I dare not hope”
This is the last interaction between them in the book. It is also Jin Xia and Lin Ling’s last interaction. Lin Ling leaving with Uncle Beggar to find peace and dispel the hatred in her heart is realistic and expected. We can’t expect someone who felt so much hurt get over it so quickly. Her departure in Jin Xia’s life can be considered as a symbol for the removal of past family hatred in Jin Xia’s life as well. With the absence of her aunt, Jin Xia is free to believe that her future with Lu Yi is still possible.
