@bendsair / @ghoulfed / @locksfate​ it has been brought to my attention that you believe in zodiac signs having a significant affect on your relationship with people you know, and you allow their signs to be a determining factor in whether or not you will like or not like the person. i’m here to tell you that your reasoning is flawed for primarily this reason : zodiac signs do not dictate your personality.

a zodiac sign is simply a constellation of stars that you are born under. it holds no affect on what your personality is, what your personality may end up becoming, and/or who you are going to get along best with. the reason why many people believe in zodiac signs has to do with the Barnum effect; the tendency to accept certain information as true, such as character assessments or horoscopes, even when the information is so vague as to be worthless. It’s pretty self explanatory, but in simpler terms, it means that everything you read about the signs are so vague that it can be applied to everything.

they’re fun to read about, but they have nothing to do with the way someone acts or how they connect with other people. it doesn’t determine your experiences in life or how you handle certain situations.
