And yet I still lay here, wondering about the what ifs and the whys and the hows. But I know better now to be at a distance.

That’s the thing, love can sprout from anywhere. We can’t control who we love. I think the love I had wasn’t me being in love, I just loved her and mistaken it with being in love.

We were meant for each other, not for love, but for the journey to love the person that is better than us now

I have hope. But it’s protected. I don’t know where your journey of love will take you but I’m glad I was part of it. You said right person wrong time, I too believe in that phrase. There’s also a possibility, maybe we needed each other in that moment. We were brought to each other in order for us to grow. Now, that moment has passed. We’ve grown. Now let’s see what the future has in store for us, with or without our souls tied together.

Not stuck on what could have been anymore. Just flowing in life as much as it lets me. Hopefully finding something, different but as meaningful

And now I walk away, with a piece of me taken. Rebuilding what you took. But it’s in a safe place hopefully. No regrets. Just thinking about potential.

You’ve been in my mind for a while now, I’m hoping these will subside those thoughts. Trying to learn that you can love someone from afar. That shit is hard bc once I start loving, I love hard. You will never be like anyone else. Your love was unique when you gave it to me. You will forever have a piece of my heart. Now I have to go on in life with that piece missing but rebuilding.

You don’t randomly stop loving someone, you either always will or you never did in the first place.

The memories we made, I will cherish forever. You will still have a piece of me as I you. But we both know, we can only share that one piece. That tiny piece full of happiness, joy, sadness, anxiousness and disappointment. As we walk away from each other, just know, if I could do it all again, knowing the ending would near, I would.

My mind was…. cluttered with the righteousness and perfection to not realize the true villian. The thoughts. The thoughts that made me who I was. Self reflecting on how I was. How I treated you. I did have reason. But not good enough. Knowing I didn’t deserve you but you didn’t deserve me at my peak. Then why try? Over and over again? Knowing it was slim to work. But that tiny slimness made everything worth it. The little smile made everything better. Knowing this feeling kept the drive good. But from one side?

I am here. Like a bird. Frighten but curious. I watch wary; always moving. On the go. But I see something shiny. Hoping. It is stable. Still flying. I watch wary. Maybe I will make shelter. A new home. But she said “‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers.” But yet, I still watch wary.
