SHE PICKED AT HER fettuccine alfredo, watching lando type something on his phone — laughing once in a while like he had just read the funniest message ever. yn tried to ask who he was texting, but he dismissed it, saying he was messaging one of his friends.

yn just left it alone for now, not wanting to start a fight in the middle of their date. her gaze moved toward the window next to their table, catching the reflection of landos phone. she felt her breath hitch.

he clicked on some girl’s instagram account, scrolling through posts and liking the latest one. yn felt her heart break into a million pieces. how could he sit here, take her out on a date, and scroll through a random model’s instagram account?

she didn’t get it. she gave him her all.

“can you talk to me instead of scrolling through another girl’s account?”

lando paused for a moment, his gaze finally moving up from his screen. he let out a huff of annoyance and faced his phone down.

“i wasn’t doing that. me and oscar were joking about our strategies.”

“yeah, sure. liking the latest bikini post? i’m not dumb, lando.”

lando lets out a laugh. “you are. you’re still with me even after i’m doing this in front of you.”

he raised his hand, asking for the check. “i’m not even forcing you to stay. it’s all on you.”

for once, yn didn’t have anything to say back. she slumped into her chair, watching lando take out his card to pay. she couldn’t believe she had stayed with him for the past couple of months. now all of those comments started rolling through her head — they were right.
