Dubchaeng not understanding regression and talking bad about Tzuyu because they think that she's doing it for attention, not realising baby Tzuyu was standing outside of the room with some toys so she can play with her favourite unnies. They don't realise that she's there until they hear the toys drop and Tzuyu's tears as she runs away to Jihyo
“Honestly, she’s always chasing after attention it’s so annoying.”
After Dahyun says that, they hear the clanking near their door. They whip their heads around and are met with a tearful Tzuyu, toys all around her feet.
Chaeyoung doesn’t even get her full name out before the girl is running off, crying loudly. Dahyun and Chaeyoung look at each other panicked, as if they hurt their little sibling and now their mom was going to find out. It didn’t take long for Jihyo to come into the room with an angry face.
“Why would you say things like that?”
The girls lowered their heads, they hated Jihyo’s stern mom voice.
“We’re sorry unnie. We just don’t get it.”
Jihyo sighed and shut the door, sitting down on the edge of Dahyun’s bed.
“You don’t have to understand it, but you have to accept it. She’s not doing it for attention, this isn’t voluntary. She told me that this happens on her harder days, when her trauma comes back. So it’s by no means for attention.”
Chaeyoung and Dahyun feel awful now. They know how bad Tzuyu’s trauma can be and how it gets to her frequently. They really regret saying those things about her.
Jihyo nods at Dahyun’s worried question.
“She’s playing with Nayeon unnie and Minari in the living room. You should go apologize to her.”
The girls nod quickly, standing up to apologize. They walk to the living room nervously, observing how happy Tzuyu is playing with her unnies. They’re all giggling and smiling wide, and it warms their hearts.
The three of them look up at the two young members, and Tzuyu’s smile immediately falters. Chaeyoung sits down near the group and Dahyun follows.
“We’re really sorry we talked about you like that. We know we were wrong and we know it’s not true.”
Chaeyoung nodded at what Dahyun said, her eyes worried and full of regret.
“We feel really bad that we said those things. We didn’t mean any of it.”
Tzuyu seemed to mull over what they said for a moment before she just shrugged her shoulders.
The older girls breathed sighs of relief as Tzuyu quickly forgave them. They watched as her eyes lit up and she pushed a toy near them.
Dahyun and Chaeyoung looked at each other, and then quickly looked at the excited girl in front of them. They smiled widely, reaching to grab some toys.
Hearing Tzuyu’s happy giggling and seeing her wide smile was totally worth the hour lost playing with stuffed animals.
