Howdy True Believers,
I'm rarely here, but my name and my event were brought up so POOF and I appear 🙂
So what had happened was:
Apparently someone was allegedly very mistreated during an event, and there weren't proper consequences for the alleged villain. So the injured party warned their friends to keep them safe. Meanwhile somebody else heard and made a post saying not to gossip if you don't know the whole story, cancel culture, yadda yadda. This got back to the injured person and ALL HELL broke loose, the free world chimed in. Really, it was worthy of 2002 flame wars, almost as epic. MEANWHILE there's another event coming up and this host, and old friend I love, asked me over the weekend for tips on keeping the peace during their thing because I've been hosting since before Jesus had sandals. They mentioned this in correspondence. Next thing I know the injured party, a new friend, wrote me scolding that I should have gone to them and asked if they were OK before even talking to the other host; I'm a big deal Community Leader and should stand up for the weak, defend the helpless, that kinda thing. I explained that I ONLY discussed the coming event, I understood they were feeling hurt and would be there to talk if asked, and got more scolding, about silence (whut) and protecting women, before being blocked (I had only just friended them here, to read up a bit and view their content, which I'd never seen and heard was good 🤔)
Um, NO. Sorry, no one tells me I don't care for my guests. EVER. I'm simply not inserting myself into the online mess; it got silly enough without my two cents since I wasn't even there. NO ONE came to me about any problems at the Bash. You all know I'd have dealt with it. Swiftly, I don't play and that's legend. Giving advice to a fellow host on keeping guests happy when there might be friction is ALL I did. And had anyone come to me for help or counsel I'd have been happy to! But if you act a fool and throw tantrums expect to be treated like the yelly child you are. And don't expect me to chime in when I don't know all the facts and haven't heard from all parties. That's how this baloney starts and I for one am old enough to know better 😏
