Hey guys! Today, September 6th, 2018, is officially korranews’ fifth birthday!

Wooo!

Five years ago today, this blog was started to bring you all your Avatar & Korra updates, and what a five years it has been! To put it into perspective, on September 6th, 2013, Book 2 of Korra hadn’t started airing yet. Yeah. Time flies. But since then, we’ve had so much cool stuff to report on and discuss and freak out over, and it’s still full steam ahead with so much more awesome stuff coming our way!

To celebrate this big milestone, we’re doing something very exciting…

The Bob’s Burgers Music Album - hot off the presses!

Have you ever drawn the characters from Bob’s Burgers? Have you ever wanted to? Have you thought about it at all? Yes? Once? Well, we love Bob’s fan art. We love it so much that we started to wonder what it would look like if fans actually animated an episode of Bob’s. And for our season 8 Fall premiere, we’ve decided to try it. We’re cordially inviting you to take a (butt) crack at drawing the characters in whatever style you want - loose and sketchy, weird and blobby, inky, wrinkly, whatever you want  - and submit them to us. Same goes for backgrounds - this episode takes place entirely in the apartment, the restaurant, the alley, and the basement. We’ll provide the angles - you paint, draw, scribble your version of the shot. We’ll select our favorite designs while simultaneously inviting would-be animators to take a pass at our opening sequence. Using your designs and your animation, we’re going to put together a fan-inspired episode. Will the style be consistent from scene to scene? No! It’s going to look really different! Will that work, creatively? We don’t know! But we think it will, because, dammit, we want it to work, and to stand as a testament and a tribute to our creative and talented fans, a.k.a. you.

The Bob’s Burgers Music Album comes out May 12 on Sub Pop Records! 

Featuring 112 tracks from regular cast members such as Kristen Schaal, H. Jon Benjamin, and John Roberts, alongside guests including Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd, Fred Armisen, and Zach Galifianakis. The release also includes the Bob’s Buskers series, in which St. Vincent, the National, Stephin Merritt, and more covered Bob’s Burgers songs. 

The Bob’s Burgers Music Album will be released as a 2 CD set, a 3 LP regular version, and the deluxe limited-edition 3 LP gift box that will include colored vinyl, the Bob’s Buskers 7 inch, a hardbound lyric book with original Bob’s Burgers artwork, a sheet music collection, 3 original posters, and more.

I really wanna take a moment to talk about netflix’s home series 1) a great supportive family environment with Tip and Lucy Tucci not even mentioning that Lucy is a single mom 2) the unconditional love Lucy has for Tip and Oh and never falters in calking Oh one of children or stop loving him cause he’s differen or eats cat litter 3) they made up a date for Oh’s birthday so he could feel part of the family even more 4) Oh telling Tip not to misgender Krunkle and then politely stating the 7 different gender types 5) the fact that they dont even say what genders each character is 6) the fact that multiple times Kyle is seen in drag and isnt questioned or looked down on 7) THE FACT THAT THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF GENDER IN BOOV AND THAT EACH ARE LOVED AND RESPECTED NO MATTER WHAT 8) i feel like many of the different genders in boov could translate over to the many different genders in our current society and i love that in this show, even the humans, not just Boov, dont question or look down on any of them. It isnt even a point on the show. Its just made normal. 9) tip expressing her feelings with the thrasher music 10) the puns 11)the body positivity of the “Queen of Thighs” 12) the way Lucy disnt care about any mean comments on her video. She didnt care because she didnt know them and she had fun making it so she didnt care 13) lucy telling tip that she didnt care because she didnt know the people hating and letting tip know that she ahouldnt care either 14)the fact she went for queen of thighs and absolutely embraced that part of her body

Honestly im only on episode 4 and i know there are so much more reasons to give this show our love, but seeing everything i have so far, im just so excited to be able to see an animated show like this in my life time. Especially one that doesnt make it a big deal, just makes it an everyday thing in life. And i havent found another show like this, let alone an animated one mostly meant for children. Think of all the younger people who could see this that are struggling with their sexuality, gender identity, or based on current events in the world: their race. They could see this and know that it doesnt make them wrong or unable to be loved. That there are so many out there like them and that they are deserving of love and respect and rights.
