i have seen some drama and some stuff going down with, no offense, the youngins. im here to let you know the basics about dealing with a bad anon
1. YOU CAN BLOCK FROM AN ANONYMOUS ASK. under the three dots there is the "block sender" option (to my knowledge this option disappears after you answer them, so you cannot answer and block)
2. YOU CAN TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY DISABLE ANONYMOUS ASKS. think: is it worth the constant struggle? do you need a break from requests
3. YOU CAN TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY DISABLE ALL ASKS. think: do asks make you happier than they stress you out?
4. YOU OWE NO ONE A RESPONSE. asks can always be deleted without an explanation. especially if negative attention is what the asker wants. As usual, your time and attention is what they are trying to take from you
If i get a bad ask I must first consider, what was the askers intention? I would say, 9/10 times, they are non-malicious. They can be ignorant of your boundaries, terrible at telling jokes, or otherwise socially awkward, but not looking to hurt you in any way.
while someone may have done something that is a social faux pas, you will be okay. discomfort, irritation, and awkward feelings =/= you have been attacked.
Hopefully recognizing this can make it easier for you to handle. it usually helps me to realize that, in general, my askers have good intentions and want me to be happy

If the ask is obviously malicious and hurts you, I recommend an immediate block.
If social media is your safe space and your hobby, do not waste your time on it with negative experiences. This should be lighthearted fun.
If it's non-malicious, determine with a level head what your best course of action is. Deleting immediately (my favorite), responding and clarifying your boundaries, or just changing your asks settings may help
There are solutions to these problems. Don't get so caught up in drama and stress that you forget that there are ways to make your time on tumblr more enjoyable
