this morning, both of my cousins, my aunt, and i woke up at about 6 am to watch the sunrise at the beach. i was so tired, but it was so fucking gorgeous.

definitely worth it.

we brought home dunkin donuts after the beach and relaxed until everyone woke up.

later, we went to lunch with everyone at a local resteraunt + bar.

i didn't get any pictures after this morning but we hung out with everybody at the beach for a few hours and it was a really good time!

today we didn't do much but still found stuff worth posting!

my cousin and i slept until about 1pm. we hung out around the house until 6:30 when my mom and her bf flew in.

bonus points for finding out my new kitten gave me ringworm! awesome, dude.

i was finally reunited with topsail beach after a long year of yearning. the waves were perfect and the beach and view itself are gorgeous as always.

after the beach, everyone was pretty hangry and pissed off so we had bojangles for dinner and are now heading to bed.

we started our day off at a bright and early 3:30 a.m, and arriving at the airport by 4:00. my cousin and i grabbed mcdonalds before our flight, which was definitely the little bit of motivation we needed to survive waking up at such hour.

the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking to watch while we waited to board our flight. the early morning sky always gives me a sense of comfort.

after a slightly painful three-and-a-half-hour flight, we finally landed in raleigh, north carolina! once we arrived, we spent some time exploring the north carolina museum of natural sciences, which is completely free and open to the public. i definitely reccomend it!

my favorite exhibit was a room filled with taxidermy, fossils, rocks, minerals, and all kinds of interesting natural history pieces. one of the coolest parts was that you could actually interact with some of the displays, including touching real animal pelts and taxidermy specimens. (all specimens featured in the exhibit were sourced legally and ethically.) it was such a unique experience and definitely one of the highlights of the day

after a two-hour drive, we finished off our first day by heading to shaka taco in hampstead for some dinner and trivia with family.

the food was amazing, and trivia was such a fun way to end the night. they even included a stranger things question in one of the categories, which was a no-brainer for me!

after a long but exciting first day, we finally got to relax and settle in for the night.
