ㅤㅤㅤ❧ ㅤ 𝓢ilco had been sitting at his desk , tiredly looking over papers , when he heard the young girl speak . he shifts a little in his chair , ❛ something bothering you ?? ❜ he asks her , the sound of paper crinkling slightly as its set down .

ㅤㅤㅤ❧ ㅤ  𝓢ilco doesnt look back at her right away , silently staring out the intricate window . ❛ you know i prefer to hear it from YOU , jinx , ❜ he states , turning to face the young woman perched on his desk , that usual sulken look on her features when plans go awry , ❛ what happened ?? ❜ thumb finds his tongue , taking a couple step closer , reaching to wipe some dirt from her face . 

ㅤㅤㅤ❛ didnt get yourself TOO roughed up , i hope . ❜ theres concern for her on his face , not on his features , but visible in his mismatched eyes . jinx is far too old for him to baby her like he used to , but he doesnt hold any less worry for her health than he did back then .

            You’re everything they say you are.      Everything.    A menace,   a disaster,   a jinx.     There’s a chuckle that rises from her chest,    thoughts ringing loud and clear.      Feigning an energetic approach,    she still felt a pain in her chest.     A rising sorrow she refused to acknowledge.    “    Yep !    ”    came a chipper response,   her voice echoing off the walls as she makes her way to her work bench.     Falling effortlessly into her chair.     The identical presence standing behind her wasn’t even given a second thought.     It was like a live mirror,   for better or worse.
