Bucky rarely got a moment alone. His presence in the tower seemed to act as a magnet, drawing in hesitant, concerned glances and gentle prodding of ‘how you doin’ today, Buck?’ and ‘did you sleep alright?’

Not tonight. Tonight, Bucky sat alone in the dimly lit living room, propped up on the floor with his back pressed against the leg of a couch. He had started the night sitting atop the cushioning but found that he couldn’t stand how soft it was, almost like he was sinking. He had grown accustomed to the harder surfaces, it seemed.

The rest of the team had gone out to McGinny’s to celebrate the engagement of some SHIELD agent Bucky didn’t know the name of. Steve had all but begged him to come along. He had almost given when you had brushed your hand against his shoulder, telling him ‘it won’t be the same without you, Buck,’ before you nodded softly with that sweet smile of yours, giving him the permission he needed to have just a few moments to himself. He wanted to thank you, for noticing the anxiety that had settled in him the moment Steve brought it up, but all he could muster was a tight-lipped smile before he stalked off to his room to find the book Sam had lent him a few days back.

There were only a few pages left in his book when he heard the distant ding of the elevator pulling to a stop on his floor. Loud giggling followed as the doors slid open. Bucky froze, immediately recognizing the laugh as yours. He set his book at his side; his page long forgotten as he turned around the edge of the couch.

Draped against Sam’s arm, you were stumbling on your feet, knees wobbling as another burst of laughter echoed through the hall. You were without the nude heels you had left in a few hours earlier, the thin strap of your top fallen over your shoulder. Sam was doing his best to keep you upright, but he was swaying all on his own.

Your eyes lit up and suddenly Bucky realized he was standing as you took notice of him, arms reaching out in his direction though it nearly threw you off balance. “Bucky!”

You weren’t that short! He was just super tall. Christian always made fun of you for your height and you acted like you hated it. But you secretly love being smaller than him. You were the perfect height to snuggle with him or for him to give you piggyback rides (you utilized this a lot).

“What’s up shortie” Christian said coming up behind you and putting his arm on your head.

“I’m not short. You are just abnormally tall.” You say taking his arm off your head.

“I think you are crazy.” He said laughing.

“Whatever. What are we doing tonight?” You ask.

“Let’s just do dinner tonight.” He said.

“Alright. Nice or Casual?” You ask.

“Casual. Let’s go to that Mexican place down the street.” He said.

“Okay. Let’s go get dressed and go.” You said walking upstairs.

You pulled on some black shorts and a t-shirt because it was hot as usual in Miami. You were finishing your hair as Christian came up behind you and rested his head on yours.

“You are just the perfect height to be my headrest.” He said.

“You’re a jerk.” You said.

“Let’s go.” You added.

“Alright. Alright.” He said slipping in his shoes.

You two hopped in the car and drove to the restaurant.

“Here we are my darling.” He said.

“Yes. I’m starving now let’s go.” You said getting out of the car.

You started walking in. Until Christian ran up behind you and picked you up.

“Put me down. Oh my gosh. We are in the middle of a parking lot.” You say laughing.

“No. Not until you apologize for being mean.” He said.

“Ugh fine. Christian I am sorry for being mean to you.” You say.

“Will you put me down now?” You ask.

“I guess” He said putting you down.

“You know you’re cute when your mad at me for picking you up.” He laughed.

“I may only be (Y/H) but i will kick your ass.” You says.

Requested: Reader is on tour with shawn and is on her period and jet lag is hitting her really hard and she can’t keep up with time or everything around her and starts freaking out and hyperventilating in the hotel room and her hormones are all over the place and Shawn has to literally ground her and hold her down to calm her down

You’re not a professional traveler, not even close, which is why it can be so difficult for you when you’re traveling with Shawn. You enjoy it, but it really takes a toll on your body being in a different city every night, and you’re honestly not sure how all these people do it for such long periods of time when you have trouble doing it for a couple of weeks at a time.

Your family tends to have drama, and whenever that happens, they pull you right into it with no regard to where you are in the world or how busy you happen to be. That’s how you ended up in whispered conversation over the phone with your family until three in the morning in the hotel lobby.

When Shawn shakes you awake this morning, only a few hours after you fell asleep, getting out of bed is the last thing you want to do, which is why you groan and try pushing him away. It doesn’t work because you just hear a low chuckle as Shawn leans down, kissing your forehead. “Morning baby,” He mumbles in that raspy voice that still makes your heart beat faster even after all this time. Your eyes flutter open to see your boyfriends unfairly attractive face only inches from yours. You can’t help but smile, the sleepiness slowly dissipating.

“Baby, get up,” Shawn says, softly nudging you.
