"That's all? I thought you could hit harder, you made me get excited for nothing darling." He scoffs, spitting blood to the side before having one of his feet attempt to step on Rex's. At the same time his free hand went to grab the prosthetic arm's wrist.

To ones worse dismay, Austin simply clipped his prosthetic out of Rex's hold to attempt to claw it on the other's chest, under his neck area. Whether Rex managed to stop it or not, Austin would still let out a laugh, followed by a snarky remark that he just had to say.

The realization cost him several valuable seconds and Austin would be successful in grabbing his wrist. His own jacket did little to stop his rival from clawing his chest open and Rex grit his teeth as the warm blood seeped into the now torn fabric.

"Oh you wanna fight, motherfucker? I'll give you a fight." Rex spat, his eyes narrowing. The pain was barely registering, the only thing he knew was that he would not stand there and simply lose to Austin. He was going to make Austin bleed just as much - at the very least. At the back of his mind he knew that he was out of shape from fighting but he refused to acknowledge it.

The time interval between him taking the thick jacket off and jumping back into battle is small, not allowing enough time for oneself to get a good look at the scars on his left arm or the complicated metal engravings on his right one.

Austin grins as he throws a punch, aiming for the same spot he just injured on Rex's chest. His prosthetic hand is built just like how his polygonized ones are, every part ends in a sharp point, even just a punch from that would hurt like hell.

He's uninterested in winning the fight, really, but he still wants to win his kiss, so that's what he's going to try to get. All of his movements are made in an attempt to be much closer to Rex before the other can stab him, and thats how he continues. Shortly after his punch, he throws a kick to try swipe Rex's legs out from underneath, if this worked, he'd try to catch him.

"But if you insist~" He taunted before harshly letting go of Rex, spinning, and aiming a hit to the man's stomach, attempting to punch him downard. "I'll try to steal one on my own" Did he just have a chance to do that? Absolutely, does he care? No, why? Because he's just like that, a bitch.

"Try it, motherfucker." Rex shot back with a laugh. "If you manage to steal one, I'll let you keep it. But you gotta get it first."

The jacket was going to prevent him from landing an easy hit on Austin, it seemed. He'd have to find a way to remove it. That's fine, it wouldn't be the first time he used a fight to undress his opponent but first, he'd have to distract him.

Rex pushed himself closer, curling his prosthetic fist. He leered up at Austin, his eyes alight with amusement and a thirst for violence.

He swiped his right leg at Rex's feet to throw him off his footing, holding him up by the prosthetic he was holding and grabbing to the edge of his collar, pulling him up as well. He held the tilt in such a closeness that the two were in enough proximity that Rex could feel Austin's cold breathing.

He scrambled for halt when he lost his footing, and found it by grabbing onto Austin's shirt, fingernails digging painfully into his shoulder as he glowered daggers at him for trying such a trick to begin with. (He was cursing himself for having fallen for it)

Rex let out a mocking laugh. He still clung to Austin even though he had found halt on firm ground again, his annoyance measured by how hard he was grabbing onto his shoulder - wanting to make him bleed.

"Ya want me to kiss you? God, you're easy. Some fightin' and insults and you're already begging for more." Far it be from Rex to admit he wanted to kiss Austin as well. He's already let his guard down once and he wasn't going to do it again.

"Clearly your eyesight's fuckin shit if you think we got nothing in common, sweetheart." Rex drawls. He raises his prosthetic hand, cupping Austin's face with it gently. His voice was dripping with condescension. "Or you just became dumber since the last time I saw you. That's alright. Your strengths were always your pretty face, not your smarts."

"What, ya want me to butter you up? Sounds like you're still the desperate needy bitch I know you as. Maybe if you ask real nicely, I'll tell you how I'll hurt you today."

To an outsider it might've seemed like an idle threat, but Austin might be able to pick up the fondness skirting at the edge of Rex's tone, like he is glad to see him again. Some of that fondness quickly fizzles and disappears when Austin almost decapitates him with a dagger.

Rex raises his hand - his prosthetic one - and catches the dagger quickly. A twitch of annoyance passes over his face at having been attacked first.

"Well, well, well." Comes the familiar voice behind him, smugness dripping off the tone. Smugness and something else, a smidgen of excitement. For a fight or just to see Austin again, who knows?

"Look what the cat dragged in. Dare my eyes deceive me or is it really Austin Loi?"

Rex jumps off the desk he had been sitting on while he was sharpening his knife, now twirling the weapon casually in his left hand as he sizes up his old rival-friend-whatever-they-were.

Luckily for Austin - or unluckily, depending on how he chooses to look at it - Thursday is not in the office. She is currently staying with friends who live in another dimension, outside the offices, for the safety of her unborn child. Several of the others are also away from the office on various tasks - Doomsday, helping the converted zombies outside either pass on or reunite with other living humans; Timmy and Thisday, outside in the gardens and trying to stay busy; and September, currently out scouring other dimensions in the search of Jane Smith.

That leaves Cyrus and Aurora, who are both in the control booth.

It's eerily quiet in the office otherwise. It's totally absent of the usual ruckus one might expect to hear going on there. No fires. No explosions. No one running up and down the hallways laughing or screaming. To one it might feel every bit as haunted as its name.

He chuckles. He's nervous, and his mannerisms show. He's leaning more into his Norwegian genetics, specially with his fluid language as he mutters something for only his own ears. "Oh who am I kidding I'm not ready to know how to say "hey im back!" jjust yet I'm so glad you found me and not someone else"
