I lay here holding my pillow like a lost love looking up at the ceiling hoping to fall asleep quickly

This is the worst time of the day no distraction for my wondering lonely heart and mind

I lay here holding my pillow asking why am I alone I have a good loving affectionate heart 

I lay here holding my pillow asking why I can’t be loved, ravished and exhausted from a lover

I lay here holding my pillow asking will I ever be able to fall asleep in my love’s arms

I lay here holding my pillow asking how long I will be alone it feels like it will be an eternity

I lay here wrestling with my sheets clawing grabbing longing for someone to anchor myself too

This bed feels like I am in a row boat alone in the Atlantic Ocean a drift, cold and awaiting to be found and rescued
