Its 2010, your parent went into the store for a few minutes, you choose to wait in the car instead. it’s a dark summer night. you decide to go and sit in the drivers seat as you wait. you sit and eat candy, the type that you dip into powder. your fingertips are a bit sticky. the AC is on and the radio is playing. you wait and wait, seconds feel like minutes for a child like you.
it’s 2014, its the last day of school. you sit on the school bus as it pulls away from the school for the last time in a while. your filled with excitement for the summer with just a hint of sadness as the school year ends. your getting older it excites you, in a few years you’ll look back and wish you were still a kid. for now u sit on the bus listening to songs on your ipod as u look out the bright day outside the window.
the feeling of still loving someone more than anything despite not being together anymore, but you never tell them, in fear that they no longer feel the same way. a part of u hopes they feel the same way, but you’ll never let them know. The feeling of regret. Laying in bed thinking about them while you listen to these songs
most days are bad, but today wasn’t. today you woke up and felt light of your feet. like taking a deep breath after choking your whole life. today you smiled for no reason and waved at strangers. today you felt like it was going to be okay. Tomorrow may suck like life normally does, but for today, things are good. this is the playlist you listened to all day.
It’s late, I know i should let you go home but we’re cuddling so comfortably, your chest is so warm and soft i could just fall asleep in your safe arms. The stars are so pretty and i can’t stop staring at you. stay for a little longer.
