Beginner Beauty Nerd

For today’s review, I will be reviewing the Prestige Total Intenisity Eyeshadow single in Hypnotized. I sadly, no longer know where in Canada you can get Prestige products. I do know that if you are in the states, you can order stuff from their website.

Anywho.... for essentially a drugstore eyeshadow this is pretty darn good.It feels quite soft and has decent pigment as shown in the above image. The first swatch is done with a finger and no base, the second with a brush and no base, then the final is done with a brush and a base. This eyeshadow oddly doesn’t swatch as good as it looks on the eyes. It blends well and you can build up the intensity of the color pretty easily. There also isn’t really any fallout which I know for some people, is a huge plus!

All of the colors in this line of eyeshadow singles all look to be metallic, but they do have some interesting colors if your someone who is looking to add a pop. If I find out where you can get these shadows in Canada I will update with a link. But in the end do I recommend this produce? Yes I give it a 4 out of 5 stars! The pigmentation is great, there is little to no fallout and i mean it’s drugstore! You can’t go wrong with drugstore!

For my first review, I thought I’d do the Sephora brand single eyeshadows. I believe these are currently being discontinued as they no longer have the two colors I’m reviewing. For the ones they do have, the Sephora singles are currently 6$ Canadian. The two colors I have here are Apple Mojito (the lime green) and Breaking the Bank, both of these shades are a glitter finish. The first set of swatches (above) are finger swatches followed by swatches done with a brush and no base. The last set of swatches are done with the Nyx eyeshadow base and a similar brush used to the ones above. I will warn you that both of these shadows have a LOT of glitter fallout. Your going to want to either do your foundation last or put a lot of powder under your eyes to sweep away the glitter. Apple Mojito applies pretty well both with or without a sticky base and is build able. Break the Bank needs a base without it the pigment is kind of poor. With a base Break the Bank easily builds into the really nice green that it is. The downfall with these is because they are glitter, they are hard to blend. These shadows work better being packed in. I personally like to use them in the centre of my lid. Now are these shadows worth it? i’d say they are, they have nice pigment that you can’t easily go overboard with, which if your new to makeup is a plus. They are also only 6 bucks, can’t go wrong with that. So what do I rate the Sephora single eyeshadows? I give them 3.5 out of 5. The fallout and lack of blend-ability are the downfalls, or I’d  happily give it a 4.
