Lomedy, in the shadow of the ice spike. Lomedy, alone for three weeks. This is when he realizes Flame isn’t coming back for him. ----- Flame never finds his friend. Lomedy loses himself in the cold.

“I’m going to kill you, bro,” Parrot promises, taking the frantic hand Theo offers him in a blink with fingers covered in mud. “That’s so awesome,” Theo says with a shit-eating grin, pulling him along so hard that Parrot thinks his arm might be pulled out its socket, angry shouts behind them getting louder, “Let’s get away so you can do that.”

(btw, I'm a HUGE fan of your writing style. it's delicious and uniquely peak, you are a ✨gem✨ in the cartwings community. keep it up, author!!)

“Just, like. I want you to take care of yourself, okay? Just stay safe. And careful.” Even more so now, Theo doesn’t say. All that’s running through his head is Shoebilly; twisted grey beard matted with the splattered gore of Arthur’s remains; the cold and calculated look in his eyes when he told Theo that once he was through with him, he’d go after Parrot next.

but also one of my favourite things about reading fanfics is treating it like they’re actually living in Minecraft and everything is “realistic”/“real” to them instead of a video game.

i don't think too often about the meta aspect of it all (which i think is pretty obvious considering how i write my fics LOL) but yes i agree i think that would be fun! i feel the ccs all have different views on how meta they can get with it (parrot not acknowledging them going off the server besides? i think one time he had rekrap call him? lol? while eggchan mentions irl things all the time, and as far as i can recall, flame has never made even a passing mention to anything irl. take that with a grain of salt tho).

i especially love when Theo does nice things for parrot in your fics, because in canon (maybe more like my headcanon maybe idk) he seems like the type of character to not talk about his feelings (or atleast have trouble with expressing his feelings/emotions) or have trouble outwardly showing his appreciation for his friends like with gifts etc but at the same time being very emotional and rash (again it’s been a while since I’ve rewatched parrots pov again—and I plan to do that very soon—so this also might be totally Wrong— so, sorry about that)

and again I said this but I really also love when he’s (theo’s) protective especially because of what I said above about how I feel like he has trouble with not talking about his emotions/thoughts (or atleast has trouble expressing them) and having trouble showing his appreciation for friends save for the protectiveness, i really like these characters a whole lot if you can’t tell (but also some of what I’ve said might be ooc and I might be getting a lot of things wrong so again sorry about that)

sorry this took so long to respond to i've been mad busy and wanted to sit down and read this properly but yes i agree! i feel wifies and theo both being protective over parrot in their own ways was a good way to show the difference between an unhealthy and healthy friendship (though that's not to say that theo and parrot don't have their own issues going on that were addressed during the sunken empire ep and partly during the mafia tomb ep). in my opinion i think parrot was making the same mistakes he did with wifies but this time with theo, only theo stopped to draw boundaries and stood firm on them instead of giving in as easily as wifies seemed to. which isn't entirely on wifies because parrot was admittedly very stubborn and selfish during the first season in a way more obvious and blunt way compared to later (in my opinion). i like to see the sunken empire vid as theo cutting the momentum of their growing issues short and addressing his problems with what's been going on. it's fun that he has a lot of agency!

“I really needed that job,” Theo complains, head lolling dramatically to the side to stare at Parrot, forlorn, while he munches at dinner. Parrot is polite; he finishes his bite before speaking.  “You always need a job,” Parrot points out. He helps himself to another mouthful of noodles. 

Parrot isn’t dead. Theo will find him. Three quick-fire thwips brings everything screeching to a halt. Piercing sharp pain rips through his left wing as all three arrows land with a thunk. Theo’s breath catches in his throat.

parrot is an archaeology/anthropology student working towards a masters because it fits with his uu character. theo is double-majoring in biochemistry and computer science, which he funds by juggling two part-time jobs and one side hustle (yet to be determined) because he is terrified of going broke over student loans.

parrot has a small shoebox apartment that is just a studio apartment, far-ish from uni but pretty close by to one of theo's part time jobs — the one that goes the latest into the night — so instead of theo crashing with his dorm mate back on campus, he'll just always end up bringing over takeout to parrot's place and crashing on his couch late at night. the apartment is rundown and the landlord/lady refuses to pay for any repairs so parrot dyes his hair in his bathroom sink all the time regardless of how much it stains the bowl. and theo doesn't pay rent but he pays for groceries because he's the one between the two of them who knows how to cook (things he learned at his millions of part time jobs).

parrot only really funds his masters program thru student loans and their uni offering assistant prof jobs. so he's almost always overworked and tired but he loves teaching so he's committed and not having a miserable time.

also wifies WILL have died here because i still think that death is very important to my interpretation of parrot's character in every universe. something or other about how parrot has been pretty withdrawn from the world after wifies passed and theo was the first friend he’s had since who’s been as determined as he is not to let him fade into the background.
