Hello hello! Welcome to my blog! I mainly just yap and post art. I do fanfiction sometimes, mostly just old projects. I really like bones, corvids, and bugs. Currently hyperfixated on Cult of the Lamb. Just don't be a dick plz
Hello hi! You can call me Beetle for this blog. (Strictly he/him pronouns please)
This is my collage board of a blog!

I do want to clarify Astaroth's bit a lil from squidseal
When he brought up marriage with Ori one time, Ori said, "Not any time soon, but maybe at some point."
That much was fine.
Astaroth made the mistake of bringing that up to Kallamar.
And Kallamar was the one who ultimately made the decision of, "How about you guys get married now!"
Astaroth was fine with it, since that's what he wanted, although sooner than he expected.
Ori, meanwhile, was not. It unsettled him.
I also want to clarify Kallamar knew what he was doing with his power, but not making it a large focal point. The main point was Ori's feelings and his work ethic.
The power was something that he relied on to keep Ori quiet enough that he wouldn't speak up on him messing up so badly.
But he only used it for that and wedding him and Astaroth.
It could have been a lot worse, but it doesn't dismiss that he was still a horrid partner to Ori.

You thought that was the end of my squidseal yap?
Absolutely not
Kallamar has an odd form of narrow self awareness. Specifically in regards to Ori.
He's aware that there's something causing Ori to have all of these breakdowns, but he refuses to take accountability that those breakdowns are a consequence of his own actions. Instead, he faults Ori for having them in the first place.
He's more than aware that Ori is being hurt by his actions.
More than that. The most vile thing about him is how manipulative he is, indirectly or not.
See, Kallamar is fully aware of his status of a god. He can virtually do whatever he wants with little consequence besides a plague or two.
He's also very aware of how vulnerable Ori's position is. He's a mortal, a sculptor like so many artists before him.
Ori was a distraction, something to love on for a while. Problem is, the other spouses got attached. (None of this is their fault, I should clarify.)
So Kallamar prolonged his life, but never gave him a rank higher than where he was. One wrong move and he could fall to a lower rank than a follower.
And he noticed after the first few outbursts with Ori, that while he was visibly upset, no one really stood up to say anything yet. Not yet.
And Kallamar took full advantage of it.
He knew Ori could not say a single word about what Kallamar did to him, no matter how badly he wanted to scream for help.
There was no where to run to, his home was destroyed.
No one to beg for help, the other bishops would never listen to him, and who would a follower believe: their god or his mortal spouse?
And Ori knew that, he knew Ori knew that. He knew that Ori would keep his mouth shut. For a while at least.
So he took advantage of it by first marrying him for himself, then ultimately treat him as an outlet for everything going wrong in his life, then force Ori to be married again with Kallamar's first husband.
It was never about how Ori felt.
It was only ever about how Kallamar felt.
Knowing damn well that Ori would never fight back so long as that crown was on his head.
Kallamar knew what he was doing. No matter how paranoid and depressed he was, he understood what he was doing.
He does regret it with every fiber of his being. He feels horrible about what he did. He hates that he knew what he was doing.
But no amount of guilt or apologies will ever be enough to mend the damage that he caused someone who he was supposed to love.
You thought that was the end of my squidseal yap?
Absolutely not

Alright Phoenix Wrights and wrongs, since you have floored me with two, count em two ties on my most recent polls. I'm now curious about something.
Why do you, yes YOU, think that Ori should leave or keep Kallamar?
I don't mean to be snide here, but it seems to me that people just are not reading the context. But I'm holding out hope and I'm not going to be the decider of that, and I want to see if they can give a good argument.
For this, all you need to do is go into my inbox with a given prompt and your reasoning!
You can go very simple, or you can go full on prosecution or attorney! It's all up to you, this is all in good fun all things considered.
The context is posted not too far away, since you have three yap posts now, and a bite-sized one shot.
My only rule for this is that you just be nice and don't make it weird.
This will be an event, and I'll hold it out until July 22nd, 11pm MST. I will accept late entries because timezones are weird.
Anonymous asks are very welcome!
Anways, here are your prompts!
Divorce/Dump prompt:
I think Ori should divorce Kallamar because...
Keep/Salvage prompt:
I think Ori should keep Kallamar because...
and just for fun, for anyone who wants to add this to their argument,
Eat him alive prompt:
I think Ori should eat Kallamar because...

Plus! You guys actually get to see Kallamar being an asshole.
Warnings for this are a VERY unhealthy relationship, and usage of emotional and verbal abuse. Please be careful!!
Anyways enjoy :3cÂ
â-
He was doing it again.
It was odd to Ori, he had been so charitable and kind the first few weeks of their marriage.
The first time Kallamar had lashed out at him it had been sudden. Pillows were thrown but not at him, just around the room. The curses and accusations hit like daggers though, piercing his heart and creating a fresh wound.
According to Astaroth later, he explained it away as just the bishop being anxious and paranoid, which wasnât exactly untrue.
Every week or so, Kallamar had something to lash out about, and usually it only ever happened when the mortal husband was within his vicinity.
Degrading insults, sharp glares and curled, scornful lips only seemed to dig a little further into him. No matter how much the other spouses desperately tried to wrench them out, they never truly stopped hurting.Â
âWhat reason do I even have to trust you!?â Kallamarâs raging voice sounded through the chambers. Ori stood there, frozen as he tried to form words, âW-Well I am married to you, so I would hope-â
âAnd?â The squid scoffed, âare you honestly that entitled or are you just that dense? Perhaps both since you are that much of a selfish fool to believe such a thing.â
â...About being your husband-â
âOF COURSE NOT ABOUT THAT YOU IDIOT!â The seal flinched as Kallamarâs enraged shout echoed. âMaybe you are that ignorant! Obviously it is about you thinking that because you are married to me, that you are entitled to have me be all âvulnerableâ and âtransparentâ with you!
Well, that is such a shame!
Because there is no way in hell, a simple-minded mortal like you could ever handle godly affairs!â Â
His heart pounded, throat tight as he tried to stay composed, even if he felt like he just wanted to cry right then and there. Just be understanding, he told himself, just be kind and maybe this wonât hurt as bad.
He fidgeted with his ring nervously, it felt ingenious with its statement on his finger.
âDonât cry,â the words were more like an annoyed command rather than the comfort one would expect, âit makes you look pathetic.â
That hurt Ori more than he thought, did he always look pathetic then?
A silence fell over the room, as Ori gripped the ruffles of his shirt, trying to keep the tears brimming in his eyes from falling.
Donât look pathetic, youâll just make it worseâŚ
He couldnât even hold his gaze, staring at the floor as he stood there in silence.
He could hardly bring himself to speak either, what was there to even say? Or at least anything that wouldnât send him into a furious fit of paranoia.
Miserable creature, canât even look your husband in the eye while heâs speaking to you.
âWhat did I just say you godforsaken animal!?â Kallamar raised his voice again but Ori just shrunk back further into himself, âDisgusting, slim little wretchâŚwhy canât you ever do anything useful?â
The seal trembled in front of him, trying and failing to keep his composure. Kallamar rolled his dark eyes, â...get out of my sight.â He snarled, and Ori obeyed with haste.
He closed the chamber doors behind him as his body wracked with half-choked sobs. In his blurred vision he saw a flash of orange and blue figures walking across the hall. They turned and hurriedly made their way to him.
âOh darlinâ, whatâs the matter?â Baalzebub cooed gently, brushing his tears away with her thumb.Â
Haborym wrapped their arm around him, carefully resting on his back, âDid he say hurtful things to you again?â
Ori only gave a slight nod, trying to take deep breaths.
Stop looking pathetic, they shouldnât have to deal with this.
They shouldnât have to deal with you.
The two exchanged worried glances at each other.Â
They knew that Kallamar had been rather uptight after the binding, but they had never seen him treat a spouse so badly before.Â
He more than certainly never acted like that with the four of them, he would never dare.Â
Which really distressed them when no one could figure out why he would treat Ori this wayâŚ
What was even more confusing was how everything seemed to be going fine at first, what changed?
Baalzebub brought him closer, wrapping his arms around the seal while Haborym hugged him from behind, giving a small nuzzle to his neck. â...in full truth Ori, heâs not in his right mind.â The poet murmured, her words heavy like lead weights, âwhile that does mean he can act out like this, and say all of these outlandish, hurtful things, that also gives a chance that he donât mean what he says.â
âGods I hope soâŚâ Ori breathed before he could stop the words from tumbling out of his mouth. He just wanted the pain to stop, and the thought that he would never be loved by him frightened him.
He didnât know why everything was his fault.
He didnât know what about himself that set Kallamar off so much.
He didnât know what he did wrongâŚ
There was always something about him that was wrong.
But never anything specific, just something.Â
Baalzebub gave a small sigh, before speaking up. âWell, how about thisâŚâ She began, âHow about I make you somethinâ to warm ya up, and then we cuddle you for a bit, how does that sound?âÂ
At that point, Ori felt too hurt to really protest. Besides, a nice meal and some cuddles did sound rather nice.
He nodded slightly, âIâd like thatâŚthank you.âÂ
Baalzebub pulled back to kiss his forehead, âAlways for you, pumpkin.â He murmured, taking one of Oriâs hands and starting to lead him to the kitchens. Haborym flanked his other side, taking his free hand and pressing a kiss to his temple, âWeâre always here for you Junebug, no matter what.â
His heart, while still wounded, was already warmed with their endearing shenanigans.Â
Just the little kisses and pet names alone was enough to get him to smile at least a little.
As he sat with Haborym, listening to them ramble on about what other oddities came around while the aroma of spices filled the air, he found a modicum of peace.Â
And with that, a reminder of the hurt that still remained.Â
He wondered if it would ever be resolved.Â
But more than that, he wondered if he would ever deserve for that pain to be resolved at all.
âŚ
If it meant that it lessened the likelihood of the other spouses being mistreated in any wayâŚ
Now I'm curious in case this reaches a larger audience
So I'm going to do a redraw, BUT!
I HIGHLY encourage that you read the context before voting, because I'm honestly shocked to see that anyone voted to give Kall a second chance
With that said, you can find the context here:
Ori side
Condensed version: Due to a lot of previous negligence and emotional abuse/manipulation from Kallamar, Ori struggles to believe that he's loved or deserving of love. Only getting treated well by his husband after "earning" his love with providing work to him. This went on for hundreds of years and even got Ori killed once trying to obediently find his way to Kall.
Kallamar side +orginal poll
Condensed version: Kallamar impulsively married Ori to make himself feel better, and would be extremely cold and snide to Ori when his paranoia got the best of him, even if it wasn't the intention. However, that doesn't mean that he never did it on purpose either. He regrets the amount of emotional abuse that he casted onto Ori and genuinely wants to change, but only after Ori is starting to distance himself because of Kallamar's ignorance to his issues beforehand.
So with the context there;
What should Ori do with Kallamar?
LITERALLY DUMP AND DIVORCE HIS ASS!!!
Give him another chance
Eat him alive gluttony of cannials style
Voting ended onJul 14
The poll is again only going to last a day, so get your votes in fast!!
One could say I'm doing too much for what is essentially a shitpost, but curiosity killed the cat and satisfaction brought it back so idk man
