it’s so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!

It seems to be popular in fanfics to depict Vash as having a fast heartbeat, but tbh I personally think he'd have a naturally slower one, since irl slower heart rates tend to correlate with longer lifespans in animals. Which makes sense, the less wear and tear on the heart the longer it can go without breaking down and the more efficient the heart itself and the rest of the body has to be to accommodate it. Plus the fact that he can slow his and another plant's heartrate down to nothing for several minutes in the manga seems to indicate they can go a decently long time without needing their hearts to beat. But that's just my personal headcanon.
