❤︎    he  just  had  to  suck  it  up,  he  told  himself,  before  he  waved  back  at  her,  pixelated  sparkles  around  him  brightening  as  he  tried  to  come  of  as  happy  as  he  could.  maybe  that'd  buy  him  some  extra  time  before  spirit  came  poking  around  wondering  just   what  he  was  doing,  since  he  wasn't  wallowing  in  his  own  misery  as  per  usual.

She beamed, stifling a giggle or two as she stretched out the grand reveal. A free hand pressed against the screen, palm glowing a gentle red. Originally, it had been her father to cast the two into the pixelated realm— well, he had only meant to cast Boyfriend, but she tagged along regardless. Her own abilities were.. unrefined, to put it lightly.

Girlfriend’s eyes lit up when her hand began phase through the screen, when it began to pixelate as it crossed the barrier into the digital realm. A quick wave was given, finger gently poking the tip of his nose.

Slowly does she rise, hands cupped to keep the boy from potentially falling off. It was odd to handle something so carefully– gentleness, she had almost forgotten the practice.

Looking around a moment, she began head back towards a rather fancy looking vehicle– a limousine, parked at the end of the street with its driver having not yet returned just yet.

“What’s your name, little guy?”

As the question arrives, the answer already lies on the tip of his tongue, as if on cue; like clockwork.

                                         “ My name’s Mono !  “

She beamed, fingers curled a tad bit protectively around his form. What a sweet little thing he was, it was no secret he was making a quick impression on her.

Humming a bit as they walked, she looked down at him again.

Girlfriend supposed she should’ve worried about the ethics of being aware of the sentience of her video game, yet the prospect of an a friend on hand was one she could not pass up. It was perfect for days like this, when her boyfriend was preoccupied and her parents were out.

She was always happy to see the ever pleasant face of the game’s poster character, memory of the scowl it once held easily swept aside by the cutesy aesthetic the game managed to rebuild in her absence. Tilting her head, she gave a wave as she spoke.

“What? Never seen a girl moving speakers before?”

Ignoring the fact they were currently strapped to her back, being carried as one would wear a backpack, the sheer size difference was still something to turn eyes.

Stopping, tilted her head at the other. A faint frown crossed her face, as she glanced from them to the set she was currently hauling down the sidewalk.

“Just got done with rap battles for today, if that’s what you’re looking for!”

he chuckled.  “no, no; i’ve seen it before.  i just didn’t expect to see it again today.”

the tall avian’s darkened features were masked by the massive black coat he wore, which trailed down to a mere few inches above his feet.  a black bowler hat sat on his head; red pupils were fixated on her, eyes almost glowing against the darkness.  a cigar hung loosely from his beak, thick red smoke trailing around his entire form.  he was, at the very least, intimidating.

“what’re you doing out here without your boyfriend, hm?”  he cooed, blocking her path to continue on without risking getting hit by passing cars.  “did he finally drop dead?”

The thought was amusing, truly. Though he was merely mortal, the things he had overcome almost led the demon to believe him invincible. Had death reared its head she had no doubt in her mind he would leave victorious, microphone in hand.

Waving off the smoke that came her way, she simply shrugged. What a silly question, what a silly guy! Did she know him from somewhere– if so, it wasn’t ringing any bells.
