She felt herself catch her breath upon feeling his hand on her abdomen. She could vomit right then and there. The kiss on her shoulder made her light and airy, how did he have such a pull on her? It was as if she were a magnet drawn to him, addicted to his touch and his words. âMy heart races every time you glance my way, and, for both our sakes I must tell you, that does not happen to me,â she laughed slightly a blush rising on her cheeks. Her hand guiding his to feel the way her heart beat in her chest.Â
Was it all too much? Her eyes blinked as she shook her head, curls drifting over her shoulders. âNo, I crave a bit more of all of the adventure of these feelings,â she mused then laughed slightly. She, comfortable with him. âSir Bedivere, I am quite comfortable with you, youâve seen parts of me I didnât know existed until these moments.â It was true, she didnât know she could be so strong as to show off her scars, or so brazen to hastily give a stolen kiss.Â
âWhat you should knowâŚâ of course Accolon had probably told him or at least alluded to the fact. âIs I am quite stubborn, and,â she knit her brows, âI amâŚnot always the easiest toâŚto get along with,â she offered. Might as well tell him right away so if he felt the need he could get on with it and call off this courtship. Then she felt as though she needed to ask, âSir BedivereâŚjust so weâre clearâŚyouâve made some remarks to it, but, if we are to be seen out just the two of us, are you courting me? Is this official?â
Admittedly, the Marshall found it delightful that he had such an effect on her. Beneath his palm he could feel the racing of her heart. A smile spread across his face as he considered that enough of an acknowledgement that the rather sudden feelings that had began to blossom for her were genuinely reciprocated. The smile only spread wider as she quelled his fears that things were perhaps a bit rushed. Of course, he had seen relationships in the past progress far quicker than theirs had which was part of why he wanted them to take their time in getting to know one another. That she was comfortable with him and also wished to explore what was going on between them was a major relief.
The maids seemed to know everything. After he had escorted her to the ball he had been swept into servant with one of the maid's and had been informed as to Goldie's more brattish and spoiled ways. Difficult was something that he was sure he could handle though. He'd done it with Kay and if she wanted him to he would do the same with her.
"I wish for you to decided that" he said in response to her query. He himself had already given it a lot of thought and it seemed only fair that she should be allowed to do the same. "It's not something you have to decide right this moment. I'd like for you to fully understand the weight of your decision. In terms of reputation you've much more to lose than I do if things go south, but even should they not....." he paused, thinking of how best to continue, "I'm a knight first and foremost. I am often sent on quest and the last one had me away for a years time. I'll always be in danger. I've also never had a way with words. You'll have no poems of how beautiful you look, even with ink on your face, from me and I will probably spend far, far too much time in the stables"
