Character Bio
Rebecca Hoover was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She had an average, relatively happy childhood and seemed to have an inclination for the creative arts at an early age. However, her life was upended when, at the age of sixteen, her latent mutant power awakened.
During a heated argument with her father, her abilities manifested, causing objects around her to turn "inside out." This display confused Rebecca and deeply disturbed her father. The next day, her parents had her sent to Lynwood Hospital.
Rebecca would remain at Lynwood for two years. Due to the destructive nature of her powers, she was routinely kept drugged so that she could be controlled and stabilized. Rebecca, along with many other mutants being kept in the facility, would be freed after an attack on the hospital initiated by the Hellfire Club. Since the intent was to recruit her, she was taken back to one of the club's headquarters.
Severely traumatized by her experiences while in the hospital, Rebecca was initially unresponsive whenever others would try to engage with her. It was Andrew Strucker who would get her to open up, and the pair would enter a relationship soon after.
Rebecca would eventually leave the Hellfire Club after getting into repeated arguments with this particular cell's leader. Andy decided to stay behind, and the two sadly part ways.
Rebecca has spent years traveling, doing odd jobs, and honing random skills. Now, she's found herself in New York, in need of a place to stay and maybe a little guidance.
