The constant need to overshare and speak prematurely of your goals and aspirations often times stems from a need for validation rooted in insecurity. With tools like social media we are being constantly bombarded by the highlights of other people's lives, and when we feel like ours doesn't measure up, we try to overcompensate by speaking more than necessary. This in turn can lead you to not reach the goals you initially wanted to because others may try to sabotage you in the process, or you may trick yourself into believing that you have already gotten what you want due to the feeling of instant gratification that wishful thinking causes.
