Weāre right hereĀ and weāre gonna write this story,
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Written in the Ā s t a r s Ā like graffiti, canāt ignore it
slytherlauren:
Do they, Becca? Do they? Because youāre literally the only person whoās talked about this fucking slipper church to me in the history of ever. Even when I went online and looked up places to go, it didnāt come up once. But sure whatever, if we pass it, we pass it and we can go look but Iām not taking a detour for a tacky church. And maybe thatās because theyāve barely got any. Just take my word for it. Weāve got an understanding. Iām sure if you really wanted you could also find a way to have an affiliation with Hogwarts or Hogsmeade. Itās not like itās hard. Hogwarts will always be here and think about all the way more exciting things weāre about to do. Eww, gross. Look just make sure youāre all packed up and ready to go when the time comes and I leave you to say your gross goodbyes to things you wonāt even think about in a year.
Psssh, but how many people do you know that have been making official world travel plans and thus needed to research things worth seeing in Taiwan? Not many that I can think of, Iām in a unique position. I must have just dug a little deeper than you, thatās all. I donāt know if Iād really want to. I mean, Iām hoping to be on the experimental charms committee at the Ministry when we get back; unless I invent new charms they want me to come and teach Professor Starfire, being at Hogwarts feels like it would be the opposite of progress. Iām sure Iāll still think of some of the things, but I promise Iāll put them all in my journal instead of chatting your ear off. Iām probably going to be too busy writing down everything weāre seeing to dwell on the past anyway! And Iām already packed, actually -- Iāve only left the bare minimum of what I need to get through the next few days out of my trunk. Maybe youāll be the one holding us up instead, wouldnāt that be a plot twist?
See those I would not be opposed to actually taking time to see cause you know I actually see the point in a bookstore, but a church slipper? I mean the Declaration of Independence isnāt exactly on my bucket list but whatever, itās a thing to do that people actually do. Fine, if we happen to pass something dumb like a church slipper, we can make a detour but no way are we actually seriously adding it to our list of things to do. I have. He seems to know Iām leaving and heās not pleased but he understands, as best a giant squid can understand such a thing. We can always go back though, right? I mean if thereās anything the pathetic upper years have taught us, itās that just cause weāre graduating doesnāt mean we never get to visit the castle again.Ā
People actually go to see the church that looks like a slipper, too! Itās just much less intellectually stimulating than being surrounded by the worldās best literature. Iāll confess that American historyās actually quite boring; Iām more interested in seeing the calligraphy and if it evolved in the New World in a way that was really different from how it evolved back in Europe. How can you tell that heās not pleased about it? Iāve never been good at empathizing with animals, not even Sherlock and Iāve had him for years. I suppose thatās true, although they all technicallyĀ had employment, or at least affiliations to Hogsmeade. But itāll make leaving the castle behind much easier if I imagine Iāll come back someday -- even if I do plan on making sure to say a proper goodbye to the Architect of Hogwarts statue, just in case. And to the spot in the halls where Olly and I had our first kiss, and to my favorite nook in the Ravenclaw common room, and...oh Merlin, I have such a long list, thank goodness weāre leaving right after graduation so that I can distract myself.

You have got to be kidding me, Becs. I asked you to join me because I thought youād be happy with just finding somewhere to chill and read books in. Not because I thought youād drag me to churches shaped like shoes. Who even goes to Taiwan to see a church? That palace sounds alright though. Definitely somewhere Cthulhu would like to see if he was a little more mobile and portable. And deal, lets avoid the Skylodge place for obvious reasons.
Oh, Iāve got a long list of the worldās best bookstores and libraries, too, but I was only planning on visiting them if we were already in those places, not making special trips to see them. Except for the Library of Congress in the United States, Iād love to see their Declaration of Independence. But we donāt need to go to Taiwan just to see the church -- if weāre already there, though, Iād love to pop in for five minutes. It would make for a funny picture to show off when we get home, if nothing else. Oh yes, Iām so sad that the squid canāt travel with us. Have you started saying your goodbyes to him yet? I canāt believe the castle almost isnāt home anymore, but thatās okay, weāre off to better things so soon that I almost forget to be sad.
Okay, so with only one week left until graduation, Iāve been doing some more research on places we might want to add to our list of things to see on our travels, and I found a couple of gems that we hadnāt talked about before. One is a church in Taiwan that looks like Cinderellaās glass slipper, basically! And another is a partially underwater palace in India. Iāve also added something to theĀ āplease donāt make me go hereā list, which is the Skylodge hotel in Peru. If I thought broomsĀ were scary, Lo, theyāre nothing compared to the idea of sleeping in a pod on a mountainside that could totally plummet me to a splat-tastic death in the middle of the night.Ā
