Jonny Pierce of The Drums for the first show of the Abysmal Thoughts tour in Seattle, Washington, at Neumos, on July 17, 2017.  Jonny Pierce is the sole remaining member of The Drums, but it was mostly hist heart in the band all along.  On Abysmal Thoughts, he address this loneliness and heartbreak, personally, and with the band.  In Seattle, the audience gave back their own passionate reactions to his heartfelt tunes and expressive twirling on stage.  

Longest favorite band - Fleet Foxes, playing their first show since 2012.  They kicked off their tour for their latest release Crack-Up on May 19, 2017, in Seattle, Washington, at the Showbox at the Market. I’ve been seeing them since 2007, when nobody knew them and only a sprinkle of other faces were in their crowds here in Seattle.  They were really good then, and they’ve become astonishingly great over time.  It felt so good to be back in their presence, the familiar feeling at their show is probably my favorite part of seeing them live again.  Shot for KEXP.

First Annual KEXP Record Fair - 10-22-16 in Seattle, Washington. 

Okkervil River (Will Sheff) at KEXP on October 8, 2016, in Seattle, Washington.  One of my top 2 favorite bands of all time, I was fortunate to photograph Okkervil River at KEXP again, this time at the new space!  

Photos from Macefield Music Festival 2016 in Ballard, Seattle for KEXP.  It was lovely running around this modest music festival in my home neighborhood in Seattle.  The rain didn’t slow any of the festival goers or performers down.  I was about to capture local rapper Grynch, Hotel Vignette, Mommy Long Legs, Charms, Bryan John Appleby, Zola Jesus, Bali Girls, Lesbian, DoNormaal, and Industrial Revelation all at the festival in day 2!

I was so lucky to photograph my absolute favorite band, Foals, at the Paramount in Seattle, Washington on September 23, 2016 for KEXP.  I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen them live... maybe about 11 or 12 times at this point.  Here’s hoping there are many more Foals shows in my future!

As a part of the Seattle Design Festival 2016, Seattle Parking Day(s) took place over 2 days this year.  Different companies took over a few parking spaces around the city for a few hours to transform parking spots into “parks” - bringing parks  back to Seattle Streets. 

Every September, Seattle has their Design Festival.  This year’s theme was “Design Change” and put on by Design in Public.  There was plenty of interactive artwork to be held throughout the two-week festival, and I was lucky to be able to photograph some it this year!

Arguably, Minnesota trips have shaped me at my human soul’s core.  I’ve been going since a child, since my family was whole, and before I saw the flaws in the world.  There is a calming that comes with being in this state for me, even through the most intense of storm’s.  These photos are from my road trip taken with my mother this Summer 2016, with my Mother.
