I profiled the all-too-often-forgotten third creator of Watchmen, colorist (and writer/artist in his own right) John Higgins.

A yearslong informal conversation with showrunner Damon Lindelof culminated in a 90-minute interview with him about Watchmen, a show he seemed legitimately ashamed of making. And he earnestly thinks Alan Moore put a curse on him for making it.

I went to Israel and the West Bank on the eve of the elections to investigate the battered Israeli left and see what Palestinians think about it. I was shaken by what I found.

Last May, searching through the bargain bin in a Massachusetts comic shop, I stumbled across some work by a creator I’d never heard of: LB Lee. It turns out they’re actually eight-odd people living in one brain, struggling with dissociative identity disorder and making jaw-dropping comics about life, love, mental health, poverty, trauma, and growth. I tracked them down and wrote a profile.
