like a sacrament,

stroke

until the sputtering

turns to sparks.

I feel your touch

warming my skin,

building to a blaze,

burning the scales

from my eyes

and turning my body

into a home

for a holy fire.

I give thanks,

writing praise

across your freckled shoulders

with my lips and teeth,

and sweep my eyes across

the hallowed ground

that is your body.

Whenever I focus

on the brilliance

of your grey gaze

I get the feeling

that space and time

will bow

and curve

around your footsteps---

That even the Earth

shivers in ecstasy

when she finds herself

in your skillfull hands---

And I can see

so very clearly

why the Sun loves

to kiss

your precious skin
