Finally did a somewhat decent commission post. Long story short, I need money for the end of this month (and maybe December as well but Iâm not sure yet) so any help I can get really helps, boosts are also appreciated!
I think 5 slots will do for now. Full commission info here.
URGENT UPDATE: Things are starting to look really bad, we donât have money to pay bills nor food and I donât know what else to do. If you could help spread the word around that would really help.
How do open snoot??? I have so many problems when it comes to drawing open mouthed critters/expressions!! I just can't wrap my mind around how open snouts work with the skull or the circles I use for the skull anyhow.. Do you have any advice on this??
 IâM GONNA TRY MY BEST TO EXPLAIN THIS because, man i feel u but at the same time I know very little about the technical anatomy when it comes to skulls ;;
Letâs do a sorta above ž view for this rlly quick, when I start out, I always like to establish one part of the snout at a time, instead of trying to just DIVE RIGHT IN. So I start by putting vague upper muzzle shapes here, just to get the direction goinâ
NOW WE GOTTA GIVE THIS THING A LOWER JAW to help keep it symmetrical, I like to pull the lines from the corners of the upper lips. DONâT BE AFRAID TO OVERLAP, OVERLAPPING IS IMPORTANT IN GENERAL BUT ESPECIALLY WHEN DRAWING OPEN MUZZLES LIKE THIS!! See that line that goes from the upper right corner of the lip and through the top half of the muzzle? I basically use that as my guide to keep from pulling the jaw too far out, or too far in. Donât worry if it looks a bit like they have an underbite either, depending on the angle, perspective will do that..it likes to fuk with ur brain a bit
OKAY NOW weâre bringing back the overlapping line because chins are still hard for me to draw and I change how i do it constantly but this is a good method to get a chin that doesnât thrust too much outwards or inwards (unless thatâs the specific jaw shape you were going for with ur character, then by all means do so!!! ) bring the line from the further corner of the eye, form the cheek, and bring it down (overlapping over the top jaw as we are wont to do) and bring it AROUND TOWN. You see here that itâs kinda boxy and I could probably curve that line some more to give a more slender look but w/e IT WORKS WITH MOST SHAPES
if youâre referring to something like the BND draw I posted recently, itâs pretty much a similar course of action, so letâs use this  asshole as an example because his mouth is obnoxiously wide when itâs openÂ
Start off with the upper jaw, again, itâs easier to piece these things together vs trying to shove all the shapes together at once (for me it is anyways)Â
iâm doing this from profile view this time but you can see the overlapping lines still work!! I roughly places where the otherside of the upper corner of the lip would be on the side we donât see and used that to help me get an idea of how far down the lower jaw is gonna go~! Donât worry, itâs gonna look awkward most of the time  and itâs a perfect chance to go in and fix the length of the upper/lower jaw before you start adding in deets like the tongue and teeth! <:
there we go!!!! looks a lot less awkward LOL
you can also do something like this if ur feeling kinda toony (itâs really fun, simple yet effective!)
It can work for a lot of different styles, from realism to toony to my stupid doodles i do a lot when being a Serious Artist ⢠is just 2 much for me :^)
BUT YEAH HERE U GO I HOPE THIS HELPS
I feel like nothings worth it anymore? Everything I loved doing is so useless to me now but I can still feel the pain from it, what do you do in moments like these?
Do you still at least mildly enjoy doing the things you used to love doing? Try to focus on the good of your situation while being open to new things. Recollect the things you did that you were personally proud of. Remember that we all fail, we all face losing interest in the things we once loved at some point. Maybe you need to be inspired? Personally, Ive always found seeking out other artists work whose skill level is far beyond mine jumpstarts my drive to push myself harder. Keep trying. Alternatively, maybe thats a sign that you need to move on to other things that interest you. New passions are okay to have, even if youve been working at something for a very long time. Always be ready to face failure and frustration, but never forget to celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small.I dont know if this is helpful at all, but I sincerely hope you feel better anon. If youve felt this way for a very long time, you might want to consider seeking out help from someone who can help you better, whether thats your friends or your family or a doctor. Theres always a way to make things better.Â

This is the best one everyone
OK GUYS!.... This... I cannot figure out for the life of me... I am working in Blender with Avastar, trying to rig this DAMN HAND. And for some reason (And Iâm sure its right under my nose) whenever I utilize the shape sliders for the bones, it deforms the wrist like this. Is there anyone out there that would be able to offer some advice? Rigging seems to be the bane of my existence at this present time...
Been playing around with Boog's design a bit. Mostly the colors, but in overall styling, I think she looks good.

Help Everyone Find A Job In Their Field
this was very helpful
This wasnât a coincidence that I saw this today.
More doodles.....
At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.Â
At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. Â At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 28, Wayne Coyne ( from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didnât get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didnât release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didnât get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didnât begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didnât become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You arenât a failure because you havenât found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, itâs okay if you donât even know what your dream is yet. Even if youâre flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where youâll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself youâre too old to make it.Â
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.Â
Never tell yourself that you arenât good enough.Â
You can do it. Whatever it is.Â

Dear artists...
No, Iâm not going to link back to your page. I edited out your ugly signature too. I paid for the art. It is mine.
Donât worry, this does not mean I take credit for drawing it. When people ask if I drew it, I say âNope.â When people ask who did, I say, âSorry, I donât remember.â
Just because I bought your art does not mean our profiles have to be linked forever. Itâs the same if I buy an apple from the grocer. I donât have to keep the sticker on it or tell people where it came from. Iâm not a walking advertisement for your shop.
If you want credit so badly, then I should get a cut of your future profits for my part in the advertising.
I know Iâm probably going to get the wrath of whiny, entitled artists for this, but I donât care. I wonât be making a shrine around their art dedicated to them. I paid for a service, and now we should go our our separate ways!
alright so thereâs a lot of fucked up parts in this post but?? right off the bat?? âI edited out your ugly signature tooâ??? Iâm sorry but thatâs really stupid?
if you bought a physical, painted-on-canvas drawing, would you still go through the trouble of trying to edit out the signature there too? Because literally the only difference between that scenario and this one is that the canvas can be physically held and displayed, where the digital painting stays in a digital venue.
Do not be a dick to artists. Fucking donât edit out their signatures, credit them where they are due. Donât be like the asshole OP. If you commission an artist, respect them enough to credit them.
Dear people who think like OP;
Please do not ever fucking commission me. My signature is an A, but I donât care if an artistâs signature is a giant fucking watermark half as big as the piece. If you cut out their signature, you cut out their effort. Do you have to make a little URL tag that links back to my page or DA or tumblr or whatever? No. Would it be nice? Yeah. Is it a good habit to do anyway? Yeah.
But unless youâre paying me USD and weâve made it part of the agreement that my signature will NOT be on the art- leave the fucking signature on the art. You purchased art that has the signature. Once you alter it, youâre violating our purchase agreement. The artist produced that art for your agreed upon purchase price with the understanding that what they were sending- signature fucking included- would remain on the piece.
If they knew that you were going to use their art independently without any sort of remaining credit like that, then the price very well may have been different or they might not have agreed to do the art at all.
Damn, OP Edgy McEdgerson is really proud of being a dickhead. No oneâs saying youâre linked forever, and no, âI didnât draw it and donât remember who didâ doesnât absolve you, you chucklefuck.
SIGNAL BOOOST
Interestingly, not only are the practices the OP is describing a dick move, theyâre actually illegal on at least two separate counts.
1. By editing the artistâs signature out of a commissioned work, the OP has created an unauthorised derivative work. As the mere removal of a signature is unlikely to be regarded as sufficiently transformative to qualify for independent copyright protection, the modified image thus cannot be distributed without the original artistâs permission.
(Note that this applies even to paid commissions; in the absence of an explicit work for hire contract, which Chuckles up there almost certainly doesnât know enough to produce, copyright - and, concomitantly, the right to regulate derivative works - remains vested in the artist, not the commissioner.)
2. Theâs a certain subset of intellectual property rights, known as the moral rights of the artist, which are held to be inalienable regardless of who currently owns a given work. In some jurisdiction, these rights cannot be given up save by explicit contractual arrangement, separate from any arrangement pertaining to the ownership of the work itself; in other jurisdictions, they simply cannot be given up at all. The right of attribution - i.e., the right to be credited - is foremost among the moral rights of the artist.
Of course, your average Tumblr artist probably doesnât have the funds to force the issue, but if anybody the OP has commissioned art from did decide to up and sue this joker, theyâd have a very strong case.
Just making a future note not to take commissions from this person. This is shameful behavior.
No, you are not obligated to be a walking advertisement for whomever you commission, but if you want to support the artist that you like so they can continue making the art you so much enjoy, it's good to say, "Hey, yeah! It's done by this person!" Also, yes, it is illegal to edit the artwork even though you had paid for it. And technically, you paid for the service, but unless contractually agreed upon, the artist retains the rights to that piece.
