Rose couldn’t fight the light laugh that came from Teddy’s reaction. She’d had no idea her old friend was in Halifax, and the confirmation just brought her joy she hadn’t felt in a while. She nodded at his question, crossing her ankles. “ The one and only. ” She laughed again at his hop, shaking her head with fondness. She missed everyone from back home immensely, and seeing a familiar face was just what she needed. “ What are you doing here?? I knew you left, but… To Canada?? ” She was confused, of course, but the smile was still glued to her face.

Grass green hair f l i c k e r e d for a fraction of a second, going to yellow as bright as the sun before returning to its normal hue. It was the smallest slip-up that only the keenest eyes could spot, though he knew that muggles could easily blame it on a trick of the light. Rarely did Teddy ever lose control of his metamorphmagus side as he learned to control it early in life, but he got lost in his own happiness for a second. “Believe me -- it wasn’t the plan, at first.” A hand slipped to scratch the back of his neck as he spoke, “Just kinda ended up here after porting to New York. Guess I’ve permanently got a thing for small towns after livin’ in Hogsmeade for a couple years,” he gave into another laugh, “What about you?”

“YOU WORK AT an antique store ??” zoe wasn’t expected this, but a surprised expression rose on her face. “you know what, you have a really great job !! antique anything— yep— super cool !!” feeling as if she sounded super lame or boring. tooting his horn because he liked her baked goods. “i feel inclined to come visit your store !!” it sounded like a great outing to go on. “i need to find something else to do besides B A K E. i’ll bring some on my visit !! any requests ??”

HOW WOULD SHE EXPLAIN this to teddy ?? letting out an uneven sigh, lily tried to form words. “well, teddy— i can’t really explain how or why i ended up here ??” last thing the redhead could remember was being at home with her family. “for the life of me, teddy, i don’t know how i got here ?? perhaps it was magical ?? perhaps it was some sort of T R I C K gone wrong ??” arms crossed over her chest, “so you moved here ?? do you think this is a concidence ??”

Looking at the other, he sighed and felt his body slump down before he pinched the bridge of his nose. “His name is Aristotle” he told the other before he nervously played with his shirt sleeve. What if he would never find him? What if it was all in vain? God, he couldn’t think like that. He had to keep a brave face, hope and pray that his beloved was okay and not hurt. “That would be very nice of you”

The name sounded vaguely familiar when it was spoken aloud, though Teddy couldn’t put his finger on exactly why. Deciding to stew on that tidbit until he remembered, cursing his terrible memory inside, he nodded his head in the direction of where they’re headed. “Well, no use wastin’ daylight, eh?” As the two entered the lobby, he went up to the counter and lightly tapped at the silver bell on the counter, waiting for the attendant to come out. Giving the other male a lookover once again, he then chirped, “Whatever the outcome, I think it’ll do ya good to grab a burger once we’re done there. Can’t go on worryin’ on an empty stomach, let alone workin’.”

“Oh no it’s okay” Remus assured the other and smiled a little. He then went back to his book. It was the best way to block out everything. Any negative thoughts, any kind of anxiety. Reading helped him when it felt like everything was in vain. Reading was always there, like an old friend. “My name is Remus, pleasure to meet you” he introduced himself to the other before beaming at the question. “Oh it’s just a history book, I think?”

Like a volcano abruptly blowing its top to let out a river of lava, a rush of memories came to him and burst the little bubble of curiosity he’d kept at the back of his mind. “D a d?” It was more of a whisper in astonishment than a true claim, but the word alone was teeming with questions. That didn’t even make sense, and he knew it; this version of Remus looked to be around his age. Yet he recognized those features -- all he was missing was facial hair, a bag of chocolates, and wrinkles gained from fighting almost his whole life. If only he could pull out a photo album right this second, but summoning one would be highly suspicious. “What, uh... is your last name?”

Oliver wasn’t someone who was super comfortable with making a new life somewhere. Not after his time on the island. God, those memories would haunt him for all his days, but they taught him how to be a fighter. Taught him how to leave that bull shit playboy life. That being said- here Ollie was putting on the playboy smile as he walked into a shop. As he turned around to check out a book case, he felt himself bump into someone. The smile remained. “Sorry. Didn’t pay attention. You okay?”

It’d been a while since the officer’s had a proper day off, and Dick had definitely been taking advantage of it. After a morning well-spent sleeping in, he’d managed to tug on some jeans, plain tee, and the trainer jacket that’s become his signature off the clock since Bruce gifted it to him all those years ago. Bruce... He hadn’t really thought about him for a while now, and easily shook it off. Deciding to browse around town today, he was checking out some cookbooks at a shop when his shoulder brushed against someone. “Oh -- I’m alright, man, but thanks.” Dick could’ve sworn he recognized the guy as someone that hung around his mentor, but it’d been so long since he’d actively been in the masked hero game.

phoebe had been traveling around town, trying to figure out her way around. she was still confused as where her brother was, but she figured he was at home. for some reason she didn’t feel the need to look for him. in a way she was grateful she was on her own. if quentin was here, he’d for sure be on her for her nightmares. she saw someone walking and walked up to them ❝hello! um.. i was wondering, if you knew where the library was?❞

scorpius always read his books at the diner, it had enough sound so it wasn’t completely quiet and it always helped him focus more. when he looked up he didn’t even thing he would see teddy “wait, teddy?” he asked and tilted his head as he looked at him “I’m not worried about your steak – i hate meat.” he scrunched his eyebrows up “what are you doing here?” he asked quietly.

He at first didn’t even give the other person a second thought until they said his name. Brows rising in surprise, Teddy couldn’t help giving a second glance; he hadn’t really gone out of his way to know a lot of people, so... “Hang on, Scorpius? ‘s that really you?” Giving a short laugh as his back straightened, he set his utensils down. “What’re you doing here, more like?” he practically parroted, totally thrown off, “When did you even arrive? How’d you find this place?”

ON HER JOURNEY to finding out how she got to CANADA; lily luna found herself at some diner, smells spread a smile on her lips. happy to be there, to enjoy herself for a moment to BREATHE. brows pressed together as she stepped up to a both. 

BACK OF HIS HEAD tipped her off. “t e d d y ??” a pause, “is that you ??” out of nowhere, lily slid into the booth that sat across from him. “wh-what are you doing here ??” shook danced across porcelain features. 

“YOU WERE HUNGRY—- weren’t ya ??” letting out a soft laugh. feeling rather overjoyed to see how much he liked the cookies. it made her feel good, life had been a rough one recently. a little happiness and warmth was something zoe needed. “thank you—- that means a lot.” zoe felt like baking was a good coping mechanism, for now, at least. “this bakers name is zoe— if you need to recommend anyone !! i am really glad someone is enjoying them !!”

Rose had found herself wandering the town, book tucked under her arm on Sunday afternoon. She hadn’t taken the time to just look around since she’d arrived, so why not take the time now since she had no class and time to kill?? Very quickly she found herself walking by a diner, recognizing a familiar figure – easier said than done with who she was thinking it was.

She walked in with a smile, settling into the seat next to Teddy with a small smile. A hand smoothed her skirt out as she set the book on the counter. “ Didn’t say anything. ” She grinned. “ But, just for the record, eating rare meat tends to be linked to more illnesses, so… ”

Like an old dog that had just heard someone call out that they hadn’t heard in a long while, his ears practically perked up to attention, though there was a twitch of confusion mixed in with his happiness. Taking a second look, thick brows rose for the slightest moment before giving a returning smile. “Holyhead Harpies... ‘s that really you? Rose?” He held back from giving out a laugh, though it didn’t stop the little hop in his seat. Though he’d chosen to move away from all those he’d love, Teddy couldn’t d e n y the loneliness he felt in being thousands of miles away. Hell, he barely registered the fun fact, even if he probably should’ve pocketed that.

It often happened that Remus daydreamed. Especially nowadays when he wasn’t in the presence of his best friends. He was all alone and he was actually starting to go a little insane. He missed James and Sirius bickering over everything. He missed whenever Sirius decided to tease Remus for god knows what. To be utterly alone, now that was new to the man. So he was staring at someone without even knowing that he was staring. He woke up from his daze and looked at the other and cleared his throat. “Ah, sorry” he mumbled as he looked down at his book again.

At first put at ease as the seemingly offending person apologized, he then felt that familiar mite of guilt begin to eat away at his sensibilities. It wasn’t his fault that Teddy felt uncomfortable; that was just his natural, anxious state. After letting a couple pieces of the steak settle in and calm him, he then gave a sheepish look. “Sorry, mate. Guess I kinda snapped there, huh?” Peering over at the other again, there came an internal pinch in his mind -- somehow, he felt... familiar. Like he’d passed by him before or saw him in the news, or something. Shaking his head slightly, he then said, “Say, the name’s Teddy. Whatcha reading?”

When the other said no, Dante pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed heavily. This would be harder than he thought it would be. But he refused to give up because he knew that if he was the one missing, Ari would have done anything to find him. Hearing his words, Dante frowned. “It’s kinda hard to look good when your boyfriend is missing” he mumbled and cleared his throat as he decided to look for someone else who could help him. He didn’t have time to just stand there and be made fun off over the way he looked.

While there was no arguing that the young man was quite tired, the bitterness in the other’s voice seemed to wash over his senses like a morning cup of coffee. “Oh... my condolences,” he remarked, feeling a bout of secondhand worry. Teddy knew he’d be a mess if he found out that any of his siblings or cousins had gone missing. “Say, what’s his name? Maybe I can help ya sweet talk the lobby attendant at the hotel ‘round the corner; if there’s anyone that’s seen anyone in town, it’s definitely them. Pretty much everyone ‘round here lives there.”
