My iceberg. • • • • • Everyone thinks I have it all. A loving family, friends, and husband. She doesn’t need to work to support herself, she has family and her husband to take care of her. She travels every other month and does nothing. She’s so lucky. Her life must be so carefree. It’s so envious. • • • Sure my situation may be favorable compare to many others but don’t say that I have it all, I don’t. I suffer from depression and anxiety. My last payroll job, I had to quit because I was getting crazy anxiety attacks. I been looking for jobs nonstop since. I been studying and trying to better myself everyday. Not many people know that I suffer from PCOS. Its a condition that happens to 2/5 women and makes them infertile. I been struggling with trying to conceive for 5 years and it’s breaking me. It breaks me when people around me pops out babies so easily, when I see another pregnancy announcement, when they weren’t planning any and got lucky to have one, when suddenly I have 3 nephews and nieces within 2-3 years, when every month I’m hoping for a period, or that negative on my pregnancy tests when I have missed periods. Depression is a friend that keeps visiting and sometimes overstays. I don’t need you to be envious of my life. Sometimes you just don’t know what everyone is secretly battling. So please, don’t brush off my life as anything glamorous that I make it seem. I’m trying so hard to be happy for me, just that is hard enough already and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. 31/365 | Despite the circumstances, I'm content of seeing my grandpa smile and fighting so hard to recover. He and my mom are my everything. I wouldn't have been me if it wasn't for them.
