Gonna talk about my animu queen, Ginger! (Art by @beemot)
fandom (or og story): ginger is my actual first anime oc specifically for one piece! she was born in the north blue (hehe), particularly Flevance (Law’s hometown), before being brought upon her mother’s ship with the occasional trip to her father’s island from time to time. Greta (her momma) spent her teen years in Flevance after her escape from her home country and was taken in by a family there. Greta ended up being cared for by the Trafalgar family (Law’s dad was three years older than her at the time) and she made it her home until she was seventeen. She then said bye ✌️ and started her journey as a pirate. Ginger was mainly raised on the Sinema with the occasional trip to Kuraigana where she would see her father (and also so her parents can have alone time <3 ew).
full name: Rogiko Ginger. Rogiko was her grandmother’s surname since Greta reclaimed it for herself. It was safer than giving her Mihawk’s last name lol.

age: 22 (pre-time skip), 24 (post-time skip aka current storyline).
species: human
race/ethnicity/class: definitely white. She would be perhaps half-Romanian (bc of Mihawk) and half-Irish (Greta) if she was in our world.
describe them physically: Ginger is 5’9. Lean. Pale/fair complexion. She has bright red-hair she wears pinned up or kept down at times. She has hawk-like gold eyes she inherited from her father and normally looks unimpressed if she’s around strangers. Among people she loves / cares about she normally has a teasing smile on her face.
describe how they dress: Mostly tailored clothing (yes she gets her clothing tailored even though she’s a pirate. Looks matter to her baby!) that consists of dresses with matching jackets / boleros, skirts, blouses, and the occasional jumpsuit. Modest in cut and length (no cleavage here!) and always in pastel colors mainly powder blue or blush. She always wears a pillbox hat (sometimes with a veil) and has matching gloves for the occasion. She’s a bit of a germaphobe so she doesn’t like touching people’s hands with her bare hands. She doesn’t wear much jewelry and she carries a blade hidden on her.
favorite things: Cocomo (her beloved darling), cranberry tea, fresh fruit especially blood oranges, tea cakes and fruit tarts, grilled fish, Bepo (her other beloved darling), her mother’s scarf, law’s flat looks, card games (bc she cheats), romance novels (Greta loved to read them), and a small comb that belonged to her mother.
least favorite things: excessive sweet desserts, milk, most men (bc they often stare), medicinal foods, sticky stuff (reminds her of trebol), being told what to do, scary things like skeletons, and wearing dark colors (black, deep colors, etc. she thinks the colors make her look ghostly white).
hobbies: card games, reading, shopping (gift giving is her love language <3), organizing her clothes, brushing Cocomo and/or Bepo’s fur, training with her small sword, writing and organizing reports, watching the sunsets.
quirks: she tends to deadpan if she’s displeased, she has a semi-transatlantic accent that makes her sound overly posh (mix of Grace Kelly + Audrey Hepburn to put it plainly), her slogan is “it’s not about being right. It’s about being exact” which the crew tends to finish for her every time she says it. When she’s afraid or overcome with grief she’s eerily composed but that’s due to the trauma she endured as a child. She was mocked or scolded for showing too much emotion + had to interpret people’s moods at such a young age to avoid getting lashed out at. She fixes Law’s collar or shirt when she’s thinking or wanting to express her affection. She doesn’t do PDA in public so this usually happens when they’re alone.
what's up in the romance department (and if they're aro, are they in a queerplatonic relationship): Ginger is pretty much Law’s and vise versa. They don’t announce it to anyone as it happened one day where they realized they liked each other more than they anticipated especially with Ginger reuniting with him as young adults. It’s a slow burn for sure but nothing was solidified through declarations. It was all through action. The crew knows it and are well aware the two are not just captain and intelligence officer. It plays out similarly to how Ginger’s parents got together, except Ginger sticks with Law and his pirate group as her choice rather than her coming and going like Greta would do with Mihawk. I think what makes Ginger’s relationship with Law stronger is the childhood they shared while in the Donquixote family (for the four years Ginger was there until she was smuggled out and brought to Mihawk). Despite Law’s nihilistic view of life after he lost his family and home country. She never gave up on him and was always insistent on staying by his side despite his harsh attitude at times. That’s why even now, she’s the only one who can get through to him or make him see reason when everyone else would have followed orders.
