This mindset is based on the idea that men would never be nice to someone of their preferred gender without intention to fuck. It’s an idea that is so invasive that it’s been internalized by the social makeup of most communities in the western world.  You see traces in it in men who don’t understand how someone could be nice to them and not want to fuck. You also see it individuals who view their partner complimenting another individual as cheating.  Too many people cannot conceive of a world where a compliment or kindness is simply that and nothing more and it’s fucking heartbreaking.
