battle-scarsâ:
âClumsiness? Iâve not seen you once be anything close to clumsy.â Isaac let out a stream of laughter, eyes full of adoration for the other. âNo, itâs all those times youâve been nothing but kind to me. As well as the promises you make to woo me like youâve just listed that it makes my heart flutter on end. Itâs like my wishes had been answered,â he shyly admitted, ducking his head to hide the deep blush on his face. He had long wished for Derek to shower him with affection like the many books heâd read and it seemed the day had finally come for him. Even the light teasing left him wanting to gush all because of the way Derek said it and even walked faster for him.
Isaacâs eyes then lit up at the promise of joining them on their next outing to the city. âYou promise?â He knew what the answer would be yet he still asked as he nearly vibrated in place. He rarely did leave the house on his own mostly out of fear that of the dangers the world hid and the times he went out with the family was limited not like he minded too much. But this time heâd be going with Derek and maybe even Laura. Oh there was no way he wasnât happy. âPlease, I would love nothing more than to come along with you as long as it wouldnât be an issue.â
âBefore you were brought to the family I was incredibly clumsy, coltish limbs before I grew into my wolf instincts and abilities. You can ask Laura some time, Iâm sure sheâll happily tell you all my embarrassing childhood stories.â Derek sounded amused, faintly so and he chuckles. Derek let his fingers brush lightly along the inside of Isaacâs wrist, thumb slowly rubbing circles over the back of Isaacâs hand as they walked. âI want to court you properly, to woo you like the maidens and gentlemen of your stories, your favorite books.â He was determined, to woo Isaac properly, since heâd accepted the offer to marry Derek. He deserved as much as anyone else that was being courted for marriage, more if Derek could give him that.
Isaacâs happiness was palpable, radiating off of him like warm sunlight and Derek wanted to bask in it forever. âYes of course I promise. Laura and I will happily have you along. Iâd be happy to have you along any time you want.â Isaac didnât often leave the manor, only usually leaving with the family. But when he did he always seemed to be enjoying himself, so Derek wanted him to join more often. âYouâre never going to be an issue Isaac, Iâm always going to be happy to have you around.â
"Then I will have to ask the next time I see her because it's too hard for me to imagine you not being elegant or like some prince charming." Ever since Isaac could remember his first days there, Derek had always had an air of elegance to him even when playing. Or that was how his younger self saw Derek. Though his mind was soon off thoughts of the past as he felt fingers linger causing the blonde to get a little flustered and yet he made no comment about it. Though it was because he wanted Derek to continue.
"Then I look forward to when we can all go. I even promise to be on my best behavior." Not like Isaac had to promise seeing as he never got into trouble. He did find himself smiling wide at Derek telling him how happy he was to have him around. "Still, if there's ever a time that you need me gone I rather you tell me."
