Cian Llyr ⢠47 ⢠Heteroflexible ⢠Florist
Cian Llyr is what he goes by now, but the florist was once known by the name of Vallis Hall. Born in Gillingham, Kent; Vallis was raised in a one bedroom flat above a dingy old pub by his drunken father and stripper mother until he was three. Vallis woke one morning to find his mother had never returned, only a letter left behind explaining to her husband and son that she was meant for greater things in life. His fatherâs drinking grew worse, and it wasnât before long that others took notice of his neglect towards his toddler son.
At the age of five, Vallis was sent to live with his motherâs parents William and Constance Husher. Arriving at his grandparentâs the grand manor was a shock to the young boy. His motherâs family had wealth, something he never knew. And while he missed his father, young Vallis knew this new life was so much more promising than the one he had with his drunk of a father. The Hushers were strict, careful with their money, and always pushing their grandson to do his best.
The private school he attended was far better than any school his father had sent him to, but there he still realized that while his grandparents were wealthy, it was nothing compared to those he was now surrounded by. Again he was the poor child, the one who couldnât afford anything the others had. Vallis grew envious, angry, and promised that he would become something great, someone of value and unimaginable wealth but he hadnât any idea how heâd become that person.
His grandparents suggested something stable, such as accounting or engineering. First he tried his grandfatherâs suggestion, and majored in engineering but he found he had no passion for it. He completed his degree and then attempted his grandmotherâs suggestion, and again he found no passion. A depression came over him, and again he pursued a new path, this time an actual interest of his: physics. Despite him enjoying the subject, he still felt he hadnât found his calling, but he couldnât keep taking courses, his grandparents werenât going to support him forever. So he put his accounting degree to use and got a job, for now, just something temporary.
In 2004, he and a friend of his started a hedge fund. Vallis was tired of life, tired of England and itâs dreary weather. He was simply tired. So was his friend, and soon they found themselves conspiring to take it all that money. The two amassed millions, funneling it to offshore accounts and in 2007, they both disappeared. Vallis hasnât the slightest idea where his friend had vanished to, but Vallis himself had taken the identity of a deceased man by the name of Cian Llyr and moved to San Francisco.
At first he was at a bit of a loss, he had incredible amounts of money now, he was free from expectations and utterly alone. He was forty one, without a family of his own and without any passion for life. No friends in this new place, and simply no idea of what he ought to do next. He spent most days staring at the bare yard of his new home until finally, fed up with it dullness, he went out to a plant nursery and fell in love with itâs offerings. Gardening struck him to his core, flowers especially, and it dawned on him that this might be what he was meant for. He enrolled in the city college of San Francisco, majoring in Floristry and at 43, he graduated and opened his own Floristry shop.
Now at forty seven, Vallis feels happier than he ever did. But he realizes that he is aging and with age comes fading looks and soon enough no one will want him. All he needs now, is someone to share his life with, and start his own family.
